Our Family Home at Miami Hills

My Mom lived here for about 2 years and it was one of the best decisions we made! The staff is very caring and attentive. The food is fantastic! After Mom lived in an assisted living facility for a number of years, she was asked to move from there as her demand for care increased. We initially moved her to a corporate owned, traditional nursing home with a memory care wing. The turnover in staffing and the lack of attention to details, cleanliness and communication with the family prompted us to look elsewhere. We were extremely pleased to find Our Family Home's facility on Miami Hills. The true measuring stick of any facility of this type is the quality of the people and this place pegs the meter in this regard!

DO NOT put your loved one in this facility. Run from this place! They tell you one thing to your face and then do another when family is not around. My husband developed a stage 3 bed wound there. The wound doctor did a blood work up and it was determined that he was malnourished. The food is subpar at best and only water is given to drink most of the time. They say they give snacks twice a day and hydrate patients. While there my husband was hospitalized for dehydration and rarely saw snacks given to residents. The employees spend too much time on cell phone and there is constant turnover in staff. Activities are non existent even though advertised that they have them. There is no nurse on duty or available to do anything nursing even though they advertise a "nurse concierge". There is a constant push to put your love one on hospice. Our doctor said my husband was not ready for hospice yet they continually pushed for it. Putting a resident on hospice also means less work for them. One night dinner thawing in the sink with dirty dishes on top! A resident reported to me that my husband had not been treated well but staff kept brushing it off saying he didn't know what he was talking about. I believed the resident because he was was lucid and knew exactly what he was talking about! This person had a computer in his room and also used door dash.

My loved one has lived here for nearly 3 years. It is the best care in the city and I can't imagine where we would be without [removed]!!

My mom is content, happy, more social and cared for well in the Bramblewood house, thanks to the team of dedicated caregivers. The peace of mind this move has brought my family is tremendous. The team listens to any concerns I might have, and we find a solution.

We actually visited Our Family Home on Adventure Lane as the Madeira location was sick with the flu. I am very impressed with Our Family Home and the care and consideration that goes into each residence. It appears that every concern has been addressed and we would be happy to place our mother in one of these homes.

So far everything going very well for my mother here at this care home. We couldn't be happier with all they have done for us. The staff is great, they have been professional and responsive. They have nice activities and good meals available. Everything has worked out very well. I know she is safe and being cared for well. This is a community I would recommend, it is a very nice place.

I would highly recommend Our Family Home at Miami. We love the staff. The staff are not nurses, they are caregivers. They do have on call nurses though. We did have an incident on the weekend and the on call nurse came right away and gave her good care. The staff read the bible to the residents and they have other low key activities. I have no complaints about this facility. We are just so thankful to have found it.

I think they are just really good treating their residents with dignity and they get to know them personally, all their likes and dislikes and they include the families in whatever is going on there.

Excellent location, walkable and friendly neighborhood, wonderful staff, intelligent and caring management, and great concept with good staff-resident ratio.

We are very pleased with the care and concern that my mother receives from the caregivers. The home environment and atmosphere are very comfortable and practical. Having known nothing about this type of senior living option, we were very pleasantly surprised at the ease of my mother's transition to the house and how much sense it made to have her in a house/home with this much personal care. I am very blessed with the concept of this community. My husband receives 24 hour excellent care and I can go about my day without worrying about him. The management and staff all give him the best care you can ask for and he seems happy.
