Ohana Home Care

On [date removed] my mother will celebrate her 100th birthday. A year ago, hospice gave my mother a month to live. A year ago, my brother and I were desperately looking for a place that would keep our mother safe in her last remaining days and Ohana Adult Care Home has done this beautifully. Ohana Home treats her as if she is a cherished member of their family. When I went to visit my mother a few days ago, she was in a comfortable lounge chair in the living room and was singing along with the hymns a care provider had playing in the TV. I cried with joy to see her so safe and provided for. My mother is very fragile, has advanced dementia, and needs ongoing protection from an abusive relative. When we moved mom into Ohana Home, she was covered in bruises, had lacerations on her legs and arms, and required wound care. She is completely healed and the protection is ongoing.

[name removed] has a lot of physical and mental needs. They handle them with dignity and keep me informed of any issues. They also know him as an individual and truly care about him. My only wish is that they would have activities planned to keep him interested when he doesn't have visitors.

The owners and the care givers are wonderful people that really care. I had standards I wanted my husband cared for, and they met and excelled every one! They make me feel welcome and part of the family when I visit. I lucked out when I found them!

I would gladly recommend them. I would say the community is top notch, I chose them because of the owner and my interaction with her.

We chose A Lane Adult Care Home because it is spotless clean all the time and they take excellent care of all of the residents. Everyone looks happy and healthy when we go to visit. They do an outstanding job and I would highly recommend them.

My Secretary was researching ALTCS facilities from here in Dubai, for my Mom. I am the only son. The woman who answered the phone started asking her questions and when she heard that my Mom was in a Rehab and was assigned a case worker...the woman on the phone from the facility said "Thanks but no thanks, I don't want to work with any caseworker!". Are you kidding me! Do you think I would let my Mom go to a place like that?

I have nothing but good things to say about the care my mother received while there. She was living here for several months with severe alzheimers/dementia and parkinsons disease. [Removed] are very caring and loving people and very supportive of the family as well. I received frequent phone calls to keep me posted on her condition when I couldn't find time to visit as frequently as I wanted to (My in-laws live with my wife and me, both also with dementia). When my mother developed respiratory failure and was hospitalized for 2 weeks, the owner, [Removed], visited my mother in the hospital nearly every day. Unfortunately she ended up on hospice, but still living at A lane until she passed away in August. They were very supportive of me after mom passed and [Removed] attended her funeral as well. I'd had mom in 3 different facilities and one other group home. I now wish I had found A Lane much sooner, but I'm so happy that she was able to spend the last several months of her life in such a warm, inviting environment.

Very sweet and caring staff/owners. Very informative as well. The home is always very clean and pleasant smelling. Nice, comfortable decor and cheerful atmosphere.
