Our mother had gotten ill summer of 2022 and needed full-time care. My sister and I had moved her to several facilities including higher priced facilities such as Brookdale, Galleria. We thought if it was more expensive we would receive better care. Not true! We ended up being referred to Northgate Assisted Living Center by her caretaker. That's is where we met the awesome Director, [name removed]. He welcomed my mother with open arms. The residents have 3 home cooked meals a day made by super chef, [name removed], where they all gather together to eat. They are given undeniable care at all times. My mother let us know they even check on her in the middle of the night to ensure she was clean, etc. They had a Christmas party where the family members are allowed to attend and watch their parents open gifts. They truly care about your family members. Sadly, our Mother passed away [date removed]. [name removed] and [name removed], (our mothers caretaker) attended the funeral with flowers. My suggestion for improvement: Hire staff members who are a little more compassionate and understanding. I was yelled at by a staff member for getting 'too close ' to my mom when she was in extreme pain. This was less than two days before she passed. I didn't appreciate that. It was totally unnecessary. I can't recommend this place in good conscience. It's not that it was that bad, but I had a few issues with some of the help there.

I highly recommend it It is always very clean , it feels like home. David and his staff are very compassionate, attentive and they always welcome us when visiting mom. I see the kindness and the love they give to mom and all residents. Having mom at Northgate Forest Senior Living is a blessing.

The community was inconsistent with their visit during covid and I was unable to visit during her final days during the restrictions. one of the nurses had a different opinion on my loved one's condition vs hospice. I recommend looking into home during covid, that could be the best option.

We chose Northgate Assisted Living because it was a newer facility, the owner worked here on site opposed to living somewhere else and having staff, so we felt good about that. It made it easier with communication, we texted back and forth all the time and she kept me up to date on everything. It was also a very secure home, we did window visits during COVID. I would recommend.
