My mother in law was there for 9 years and left just a couple of weeks ago. There were 4 people living in assisted living when she left. When she moved in there were 34. They cannot keep residents and staff changes so frequently that we could not keep up. We’ve had issues from ear drops being put in her eyes by an unqualified staff member to her being fed McDonald’s, pizza and whatever came off the frozen food delivery truck that week. Since 2019 we have seen a great decline in care and management and had to make the difficult decision to move her. In her current place, in just 2 weeks, she has attended more events and made more friends than she had in months at North River. Do your homework, ask lots of questions about staff turnover and resident turnover. They have many of the ingredients to return this place to its former glory. They just need the management and staff to do it.
