I would recommend you find another community. I am trying to find my loved one a new community. The staff are not proactive in communication when my loved one needs supplies or medications. The staff are allowing my loved one to run out of medications without telling me. The meals could be improved by adding fruit and more vegetables to the meals. The sandwiches are served with chips. There is hardly any desserts served to the residents either. I'm always seeing something on the floor when I visit, and I don't find the community to be as clean as it should. I'm not happy with our experience with North Penn Manor.

All of the staff members really went above and beyond, and whenever we had a problem we would call and they immediately took care of it. The two owners there were excellent.

We chose North Penn Manor because it meets my mothers needs perfectly. My mother is sharing a room and it seems to be working out, they have plenty of room for their own personal items. They are doing outside visits during COVID. My mother says she likes the food, it's a nice 50's diner style setup. It is very clean and they provide variety. My favorite part about this community so far has been the staff members, they are always very helpful. I would absolutely recommend North Penn Manor.

Every time I have gone into North Penn Manor in, the community has been spotless. The first time I ever walked in, the place was immaculate and it smelled like they had just cleaned. North Penn always has a very friendly atmosphere and the staff has always been pleasant towards me. The staff has always been very communicative with me about my mother's care and they have really done a good job of taking care of her and showing her the compassion she deserves. They clearly care a lot about residents. The staff regularly has activities available, both inside and outside the community. During the holidays they even invite the families to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner with the residents so they can have company. The food here is fantastic. North Penn Manor has been a great value for the price tag. They are very reasonably priced especially when considering the level of care the community is providing for the residents and my mother. I feel very much like every cent I spend here goes directly to my mother and her care. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the community has been on lock down. Even during the hardship of being quarantined, I have not noticed any negative change in my mother's condition, which shows how closely the care giving staff have been monitoring her and ensuring her spirits remain high.

When we came to the heart breaking decision we could not at home provide the 24hr care that Mom needed and deserved, we found North Penn Manor. Hands on owner [Name removed] along with her staff provided the personal loving care Mom needed and enjoyed. Proactive medical care help keep Mom in tip top shape. [Name removed] and her staff made you feel that you where part of a family and we cannot thank them enough.

I wish I could give this facility 10 stars. I placed my mother at North Penn Manor in June after she resided at 2 other unsuccessful ALFs. This is a cozy and clean facility. The most important quality is the nursing staff. They are the most compassionate loving angels. They often went above and beyond. They treated my mom with the dignity that she deserved. They were always pleasant. All of the employees take pride in their jobs including housekeeping. If you are looking for a cost effective facility, this place ranks #1 compared to the ones that advertise how great they are and charge substantively much more. Take in mind though, it is no frills but does what it is suppose to do and more

The care staff is very good to my mom. She likes this community for the great care and the variety of healthy meals that are offered. I like knowing that the community is clean and she likes the environment. This community comes highly recommend for the care of a loved one. Families might want to tour this community for care and the nice value.

I thought it was bad when I toured here. All the doors to the resident's room were open, lacking privacy. Their office was a mess. For lunch the residents were eating hot dogs with some type of water-juice like Kool-Aid. The woman who gave the tour wasn't expecting me but she did the best she could, there was some miscommunication about my appointment because the correct person was not there.

Response from North Penn Manor
June 20, 2017It is the resident's choice if they want their door opened or closed. Hot dogs are offered as an alternate 3 days of a 5 week cycle and many residents like them. Juice is one of the choices for beverages. The correct person was there to give the tour. According We do have a small office, but I wouldn't call it a mess. According to the referral agency, this reviewer didn't have anything good to say about any of her tours. She said that she had a "champagne taste on a beer budget" and that she was a "moving target".
Our family is very pleased with the care kindness and respect our love one is receiving

My sister in law is at North Penn Manor and is very happy. I find this facility very clean, everyone working there is extremely friendly and helpful..the facility itself has a very home-like feeling. They are very accommodating as per needing a ride to appointments,as I cannot always take days off when an appointment is scheduled. What is amazing is the price for getting the most important things I was looking for in a facility.

The administrator and staff are extremely cordial, upbeat, caring and helpful. Food is excellent and ample, however there is not much choice. Sunday afternoon musical entertainment is great. My only real criticism is that activities could be improved: the 2 pm activity often does not occur as posted and it does not amount to much. Once, the social room was taken over by folks testing hearing; they should have used a different room. There are many DVD movies on the shelf but they seldom play them, and when they do, they are shoot-em-ups which my loved one dislikes.

This facility is a warm and loving place. Completely clean and well maintained. The staff is very professional and can call all the residents by name. The meals are served in a cutely designed, sunny room decorated in a 50s diner motif. The rooms are larger than any of the other facilities I visited. The price is the best for the quality they give and If you feel any guilt for the placement of your loved one, that feeling will soon go away if you chose North Penn Manor.

The staff at North Penn Manor are very accommodating and helpful. They call the family with any concerns or problems with your loved one. My farther-in-law , who has dementia, seems happier and more engaged in conversations when we visit him. The food is great according to my father-in-law. Other residents who we spoke to did not have many bad things to say only that the staff are"Angels". The only recent incident that could have been discussed is if there is a problem with your family member... they should have asked where to take him in case of an emergency. ie.. what hospital would you prefer if he needs to be admitted. Also, need a better system for separating laundry between pts.

After visiting many assisted living facilities my siblings and I chose North Penn Manor as a new home for our mom. Our mother is 88 years young with a lot of spunk and energy. Her disability is legally blind suffering from Macular Degeneration. She has always lived alone and been very independent but her poor vision became a problem that interfered with her quality of life. It was really hard for us to take away her independence but to our surprise our mother was very happy. She has company, made friends quickly, and loves her new home. The staff is very kind and helpful, the food is good and the facility is very clean. Everyone we spoke to was very happy there and encouraged us to have our mother move in. We are so relieved to know our mother is getting such good care, and is happy. I encourage anyone looking for a place for their loved one to visit North Penn Manor.

The Director was very friendly. Rooms were small but clean. Was concerned about the residents hair, they didnt even look like they had been brushed and it was 5:30 PM. No transportation to mall or library. Activities seemed limited. Enclosed safe outdoor space was very small. One staff member in particular seemed annoyed by every request made by residents. However, overall the price was certainly good and the rules were liberal. Worth consideration.
