Please beware living at The Village at Gainesville means signing an extremely unfair lease that requires the resident to give 120 days (Four Months!) paid notice should they need to move for any reason. And that is only AFTER they have met the requirement to live there and pay rent continuously for one full year (tens of thousands of dollars). A very reasonable 30-days notice is standard in the senior living industry, so be sure to shop around for a much better deal than this one! My now 91-year-old father lived here in a one-bedroom independent-living apartment for four years until his health took a sudden turn and he needed more care and support. The Village is demanding he pay them thousands of dollars in notice even though his doctor said he must move for his safety. They claim to be non-profit, but don't let that fool you. Their prices are not lower than their competitors, and they are greedy and uncaring. Their executive salaries are exorbitant, while the elderly residents with dwindling resources pay and pay even after they leave.
