Generally the room his room was not clean when I visited. Generally the quality of care was poor when I visited something was always amiss with my that's care. Sometimes they would hustle in when they saw me and kind of act like they were always on their way. The food look like crap and my dad hated it all. I think the activities were lame. Not a lot of off property activities like going to actual church or going to the actual grocery store and they have the van but they didn't take people out. They're very quick to send my dad to the hospital when things got dicey without really giving us time to help. Some of the staff had extremely long fingernails which is not conducive to care of others. Many of his items went missing including his [fee removed] hearing aids. So generally I would not suggest this place to anyone. Sorry.

The facility is exceptionally clean and the staff is very helpful, present and available. As far as the value for the money that rates a 2 the care givers passing meds are not RNs or LPNs. He needs help with the bathroom, meds and meals so the basics. The owners of these facilities are multi millionaires that never visit where their money comes from. Sorry for the bitter tone. The cost is ridiculous.

The staff is super friendly and nice. Both the aids and the administration. The place is clean - but has this nasty HVAC noise 24/7 in the AL portion. The food looks good and the people preparing and serving it are super. Mom quickly went to MC and it's not noisy there. We have never had to navigate this. Staff, as friendly as they are, were not good at helping us understand the policies and practices or what to expect. The evaluation of mom was way off and she ended up in MC within 2 weeks. She has fallen 3 times and has a broken arm that is NOT the result of a fall. No one knows (including her) how it happened. Fragile bones are to blame right now - and likely true. I've been questioning the quality of care, but I don't know what to expect. Mom has not been able to, or has not wanted to participate in many activities, so we don't have much to say about that. I'm just not sure she's got enough eyes on her as she is certainly a fall risk. I don't know if they are getting her up and moving to keep up her strength so she doesn't fall. They say they are staffed appropriately, but the limited observations seem to suggest otherwise. When you have one resident that continues to try to get up out of his wheelchair when he obviously will fall if he does, and he needs continuous eyes on him - that leaves limited eyes on mom who is right behind that resident in her need. Neither of them remember that they will fall if they do these things. The staff is obviously doing the best they know how. These are not people who don't care.

Staff rocks great caregivers. They're kind and family oriented. I wish there were more opportunities to go outside in memory care as a group.

I would rate a 5 for all. We've been very happy with Norbella Savage. It has been a great home for my mom. The staff are all very nice, which is not the case everywhere. My mom is happy with food and activities. I also like that their payment system is simple and straightforward, with just 4 care buckets, rather than a point system where it constantly changes. You know what you are paying every month. And we're actually paying less at Norbella where she has nurses right outside her room and better oversight than we paid at her last residence that was a larger facility and more like apartment living. Overall I'm very happy with Norbella and my mom is too.

Meals are the best. Caregivers do their best .my mom just had to move to memory care so it's all nee to us. They are nice too. Activities are the best and they keep them busy I have lots of respect and thankful for Norbella - no place is perfect. They are doing the best they can I address my concerns and they try resolve it right away. I have my up and downs about assistant t living in general but it's all nee to my mom and I. My mom is safe there and they do have their hands full.

The staff was attentive, loving, and kind, but there were not enough of them. They did their best, considering short staff, especially after we complained. Mom fell and pushed her button numerous times and finally had to crawl to her phone to call my sister. By the time my sister got there, they still hadn't been to Mom's room. It seems there was an equipment issue and not enough staff. Meals weren't like they are described in the brochure, but they were okay. Mom used to complain that they served rice too often. Activities were definitely lacking when she was there. Same thing - not enough people. Also, not a lot of residents then. Mom hasn't been there for quite some time, so it's probably better now. The overall cleanliness was okay, but they did not clean her room often enough or well enough. My sisters and I had to do most the cleaning even though we were paying for it.

My loved one has only been there for a short amount of time due to them breaking a bon and having to be in the hospital or rehab the rest of the time. Our tour with the community was fine. The move in was on our own. The staff communication with the family has been good.

She loves her apartment and the staff. They are so sweet to her always. They care so much for their residents. They are just fabulous with my mom she has no complaints she absolutely loves it there the only thing they can improve on is maybe having a few more scheduled activities during the day during the week and on the weekends.

During the time our loved one was there NorBella was just phenomenal, the first impression we got from them is that they are very much centered around the care of the individual and are willing to work with everything they may need. We thought the meals and dining experience was excellent and even though our loved one was limited on what she could do, from the activities we saw it looked like they had a ton of different things available. Overall we did think the value for the money was good.

It is a REALLY great residence for people who need a higher level of care and supervision than you're going to get in a larger assisted living facility. The staff are really good at caring my my mom, and she's much better taken care of than where she was previously in a larger facility. Everybody has been super nice. My mom is very happy there. She says the nurses are very nice to her. The nurses' desk is right outside of her room, and there are more eyes and a lot more attention on the residents, and all-around better supervision for somebody like her who really needs that to keep her safe. Comparatively to where she was before, I like NorBella's pricing system better, with just four standard packages. So you know exactly what you'll be paying every month with no surprises. And I think they're reasonably priced for what they provide.

The staff is friendly. The place is very nice. But, they're new and unorganized. We had issues with medications. They told us one thing, which turned out to be entirely another thing, and it cost us a lot of money. It was hard to know who to contact when you needed to talk to somebody. They didn't have an activities director yet. My loved one hated the food. Maybe as they get on their feet things will improve.

Norbella Savage was a newer facility. We experienced some issues with billing and miscommunications, partially due to staffing issues and a change in ownership. While you could move belongings in on the weekend, they didn't explain that officially move-in day had to be on a weekday when staff was there. They also didn't explain very well requirements and things you're responsible for. Because it was newer, it seemed like a fairly nice place. And the staff seemed friendly and easy to talk to. We just had a lot of issues and weird things initially. For instance, we had moved our loved one's bed in ahead of time on the weekend, and someone had slept in it. And furniture had been moved. I was not really happy about that. When I came to them with concerns, it always took some time for them to handle, which was frustrating. Right now, my loved one seems comfortable there, and that's the most important thing.

May 11, 2022Thanks for sharing this feedback, and thank you for trusting us to care for your mother. Thank you for being flexible during the transition we were going through. We’re glad that your family is comfortable and happy with the care she is being provided. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if there is anything we can do for you now or in the future.
We did enjoy the smaller scale of the community, the staff to residents ratio was very good. With them being a brand new community they were still working out the kinks. However based on the experience we have had so far we would recommend the NorBella Savage community

A Place for Mom has scored NorBella Savage 8.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
