I would definately recommend New Life. My loved one is well cared for and the staff is responsive, but also proactive as appropriate.
At New Life, caregivers encourage a family feeling in the group home setting. Caregivers are kind and compassionate, providing residents with the best possible care. New Life hires only those individuals that genuinely love helping others. Staff are available 24/7 and provide for any needs residents may have.
New Life is located in the quiet town of Elkridge, Maryland, in Howard County. Seniors at the residential care home have quick access to many amenities by being located just off Maryland State Route 100. Seniors are close to hospitals and medical practitioners for routine care or emergencies. There are also a number of stores in the area for seniors’ convenience.
Just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Baltimore, New Life is surrounded by parks. On the east end of town enjoy the pleasures of Troy Park. Active seniors can enjoy the disc golf course located nearby in the Rockburn Branch Park.

I read the story that inspired New Life, and once I met with [name removed] and his mother,[name removed], I could tell right away that they were living out their purpose and that my family member would be cared for.

When we toured this community it had more than one floor. The community that we picked is not and she has her own room and bathroom. This was a really good tour it just didn't suit our needs with what we were looking for.
My mother has been at New Life Assisted Living for three years now, and I truly think it was a blessing we found out about their care service. My mother is now 96 and has adjusted well and has been very vibrant, with the care she is receiving. I could not imagine entrusting anyone else with my mother's care. At 96 she is still going strong thanks to New Life Assisted Living.

Visited their Elkridge home and Jessup home. My daughter and I found the owners to be nice. And liked the activities for the seniors. Jessup home mom would have a private room but a little to much money for us. Elkridge I didn't care for at all. To many steps, to many people for one shower which was downstairs. Powder room upstairs. No deck and not much outside space for mom to be outside.

They were helpful and listened to me about what my loved one needed. They said they would deliver on what was told to me which wasn't. Just things changed little by little as we were moving in. When I was signing papers and moving my loved one in, the price changed by $650. The staff and care are tremendous just the administration end is where the issue lies. The drawback of the Social Worker there is no socialization at all with the residents and they told me they applied for medicaid and there has been no word on that at all. Now the people and church services are tremendous also. They try real hard and hoping something changes or we will have to move.

This is a nice community. The staff is good and very attentive to their needs. The meals are good and they do like a nice variety of meals. They community does offer a lot of nice activities for them to be involved and they seem to try different things. We would recommend this community for the good care and the value for other families.

A Place for Mom has scored New Life Assisted Living I 9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
