My mom is very change-adverse. I saw her bristle so many times when she was faced with it, both major and minor. After dementia slowly crept up on her, she wasn't just gonna accept ceding control to a care home's staff. But it got to the point where the hospital would not release her to go back to living on her own. We needed a place that would do for a widowed woman in her 80s all the things that she had stopped doing for herself. That brought us to Nannie's Inn. They needed to be the responsible "parent" who wouldn't let my mom get away with not bathing and not eating decent meals. Watching your mother decline and stop being the woman you remember is a painful thing. Especially when it means she loses both mobility and recollection of details from her life. I believe the staff here were invested in helping my mother, knowing that she didn't welcome the world she was thrust into. They gave her a better final chapter than we could give her at home. I thank them for that!... Read more

I visited my uncle here (we have since moved him) and was very sad to hear & witness the disrespect of the staff and owner. The owner spoke to my uncle in my presence, asking him if he was happy and if the nurses treated him well. What is he supposed to say knowing that he has to stay there? And why did you feel the need to ask him this when I arrived? It felt very awkward and strange. I felt incredibly unwelcomed & was spoken down to by the owner as if I didn't understand what my uncle was suffering from. I finally spoke up, asking that she allow me to visit my uncle. Before leaving, I heard one of the nurses yelling at a woman to go back to her room because it wasn't snack time. She looked so timid and afraid. I wish I would have done something then & there and cannot stop thinking about her. I am writing this review, hoping they will be monitored and audited to correct the behavior. Everyone, no matter what their health status is, deserves respect.

[Name removed] now owns this home. She is no [name removed]. She has refused to adhere to Covid 19 guidelines. 3 ladies have already died and at least one employee is in a drug induced coma due to the Covid virus. She eventually provided some sort of protection for her other employees and had her son in law come in and put up some plastic sheeting. She is limited to six residents but has at least 7. She places residents from her other houses in this W. Bloomfield location. One of the residents sleeps on the floor because she falls out of bed! Have you ever heard of bedrails??? It would be your duty as the owner/operator. She has not had the home professionally and properly cleaned, she just keeps moving them in. Is it money [name removed]? PLEASE BEWARE! Do not place your loved one anywhere near this home or any of the others that [name removed] owns/operates. I have NEVER met anybody like her. She reminds me of the schoolyard bully with the way she talks to you and treats you. I really have a lot more to say but will end this now as I need to check on another resident,my mother, who is in the hospital for the third time since [date removed].

Paul was fantastic! In an hour I had several options from which to choose -- and one that turned out to be the one. Very easy process. Would highly recommend A Place for Mom and Paul specifically. We are very happy.

We would have put our sister here in a minute but she was not a good fit per Lori. Everyone was up and doing a craft the place was clean and very accessible by wheel chair. It was far from my home but every bit worth the time and money.

The Director was superb! I fell apart emotionally while talking to her (so embarrassed). Very impressed with her home - clean, neat, organized. Residents seemed happy. She did not have a private room; only a double. Don't think my mother would like that - even with dementia. Will still keep this option open. Need to investigate VA benefits; decide on whether to have bone marrow biopsy to determine her life expectancy since her recent "possible" MDS diagnosis. She knows I am looking at places and is not happy about it.

A Place for Mom has scored Nannie's Inn 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
