MoringStar Assisted Living and Memory Care at Arcadia serves seniors who wish to relieve themselves of the responsibilities of daily life at home, as well as seniors with memory impairment needs. Residents at MorningStar enjoy warm Phoenix weather and the community’s many amenities. There are medical facilities and pharmacies nearby and grocery stores as well.
For assisted living residents, MorningStar offers four levels of help with the activities of daily living including minimal, moderate, more frequent, and intensive and extensive. In all cases, around-the-clock care managers ensure your safety and meet all your needs.
For residents with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, caregivers offer a gentle home in a secure Reflections Neighborhood. Whether your loved one is at the onset of this disease or in an advanced, potentially self-injurious phase, staff can help. Through a resident-directed approach, the staff uses multi-sensory cues including aromatherapy to calm and awaken memories, to support capabilities, and, above all, to affirm dignity and value.

Morningstar is a very nice facility. My reason for doing so is they do the best they can. They offer daily activities, they keep the facility clean, employees are friendly and appear to do their jobs well, food is good and has variety. There are two areas that need to be improved: 1) There are two hallways that should have a CNA positioned closer to residents in case a resident needs assistance. There are no emergency pulls or bells, etc in residents' rooms should resident falls or needs help. 2) There needs to be more communication about resident medical needs with medical staff/CNAs and resident family members including an ongoing list of meds prescribed and meds deleted, plus updates from physical therapy.

June 6, 2024Trish, we were honored to care for your sister during her residency with us. We do have emergency call buttons in the bedroom and bathroom of every resident suite, and offer pendants as an additional comfort. Because your sister’s POA was her daughter most of our communication was directed toward her. She often remarked with pleasure on our level of communication and commending the compassion of our team. This has been a positive experience for my loved one and family. The way the staff care for my loved one, ambiance, and the food have made it a good experience for us. I'm not seeing my loved one participating in activities, and the staff don't keep me updated on any activities my loved one is participating in. The staff communication isn't as proactive as it could be to let me know what is going on with my loved one. My loved one fell and hurt a limb and the staff did call and let me know about the injury. The staff are responsive to the family's questions about our loved one. The community has 4 aides to care for 40 residents, it would be nice to see more care staff.

My mom was really disoriented when she first came from my dads passing. I looked at a lot of different places and when I walked into Morningstar it was very lively and they had music playing. There were a lot of residents around and people were socializing and playing games. [name removed] the executive director is amazing. The residents are very inclusive and they do not like to see anyone by themselves, they are very welcoming to new residents and help them find their way around. It has been an amazing experience and we would definitely recommend MorningStar Arcadia, my mom is thriving.

Our family had an in person tour and MorningStar was wonderful, the lady who gave the tour was so informative and welcoming. They had so many different amenities for the residents to take advantage of, it was just a vibrant lively atmosphere. However, our loved ones health was progressively getting worse and we just did not think it would be the best fit for them

This community only had rooms that were next to fire dept or next to busy street and would have been to noisy for what was paid. The tour guide also did not know much about the community.

Our loved one absolutely loves all the meals they are serving. The rooms size is perfect, and just the right fit for her. We would recommend MorningStar community to others. Our only criticism we have which is minor, is it would be nice if they could upgrade their internet. It is extremely slow and very weak.

I would tell others that there has been a lot of staff turnover and they have not been very good about notifying family when that has happened. I have to protectively call to find out for any information as far as visitation goes, so they could improve with their communication skills.

Our experience was excellent, the floor staff on the memory care side was okay, but the staff everywhere else especially the front desk staff was amazing. What made our experience really nice was how easy the made our loved ones transfer. From his previous community to this one, they were very accommodating especially during the pandemic. They were very organized and got us everything that we needed. They coordinated everything, and in regards to that they were fantastic.

February 22, 2021Thank you for taking the time to review us. It is our joy to serve those who first served us—the-trail blazing generations who have gone before us to show us the way.
Morning Star has an insufficient amount of residents in the memory care unit, which means there are not enough residents there to stimulate our loved one has far as having a relationship with them. We do know COVID has played a role in which they have to space out the residents for safety purposes, but that makes it harder for our loved one to develop relationships with the other residents. We are little unhappy with the house keeping. Every time we come visit it seems like we have to always vacuum. Our loved one spilled cranberry juice on her carpet, we have brought it to their attention but it still has not been cleaned up. The care take is great when she helps out of our loved one, but their is a language barrier. Our loved one is hard of hearing so sometimes it is hard for her to understand her care giver. We also aren't really sure what the difference is between assisted living and memory care. We thought the staff on the memory care side would be more on top of things, but they are not much different from the assisted living side. Also, the food is terrible.

December 30, 2020Thank you for your candor. It’s true, there is not a corner of society that has not been impacted by the pandemic, including our Reflections neighborhood. Essential in our Triple Crown defense against the virus is six-foot distancing. Difficult as that necessity is for all of us, it is even harder on the memory-impaired. Yet for our residents’ safety, we strive to maintain it. Our team has worked heroically in 2020 to fill our home with love and laughter and engagement despite the constraints. Among the ill effects of dementia is the loss of taste. Your mother acknowledges that her palate isn’t what it used to be. Considerate of the circumstances, we did give her the option of taking her meals in the Assisted Living dining room. We proudly train our Reflections team in Lavender Sky, our proprietary philosophy and programming in memory care; evidence of those brand standards can be seen throughout our community for the direct benefit of residents. We wish your family well.
From our understanding the care services and activities they offer are good. We really liked how friendly the people are at this community, especially the front desk workers. The gave us immediate attention and were very thorough with explaining to us what this community had to offer. We were very impressed by that and the overall cleanliness and friendliness of this community. The rooms are very good, and adequate.

I am very impressed with place itself. It is very clean and very friendly. The staff are very careful about what they do and very friendly. He likes the food. I chose this community because I was impressed with the people that interviewed us, it is very beautiful, and it has a christian background which was all very important to us. I would recommend this community to other families.
