I was happy with the facility the first month they were there then as I got more involved in things I found that they were not very attentive. I emailed the business manager numerous times trying to get parents billing set up on auto pay and I ended up having to physically come in to the office to get a reply. Keep in mind I live in Indiana and had to travel to check on them in Texas. They had a $250 late fee for paying their bill on the fifth instead of the first no grace period. When I talked to the business manager, she said it's unfortunate that we were billed but it takes an act of God to refund a late fee from the main office. Well, no act of God happened and we were never refunded that $250 fee even though I had a number of emails, asking for her help, Although it is an independent living environment, there were times they could have offered assistance, but did not. For example, when they moved in the dining room was set up with table service a few months later they went to cafeteria style. My dad was in a wheelchair, could not manipulate the tray and moving himself to the table when he asked for assistance, they said to ask your wife to help you. Also as their needs became greater The staff recognized that independent living was becoming a challenge for them. They didn't notify any family members or agencies that they should go to an assisted living center. My dad had a terrible cold for two weeks and We did not become aware of it until he had pneumonia. My sister that was in town had gone on vacation and when she came back, he was very sick. I was out of state and when I called to check on him, he and my mom both said that he was fine. One of the CNA's from an outside agency saw me when I was moving his things out of the apartment .She helped the woman in the apartment next-door and she told me that she memtioned that someone should check on him.He clearly was not fine.He passed away June 2023. Overall, it was a terrible experience, but it's not fair for me to give them a 1 because most of the staff was kind and helpful but but the management was hideous.

When [name removed] was the director, The Morada was a caring and compassionate senior living facility. Under [name removed], things have declined and my mom begged me to find her another place to live. This along with her medical needs led us to a better place for her. We notified with a phone call that she would be moving out. The staff tried to pressure my mom to stay and made her feel extremely uncomfortable. When I called to try and get final bill, I was told I didn't complete the form so it would be another 30 days. We completed form and moved her to an actual assisted living facility and then were told we would have to pay the whole of the lease because he felt they were just as good as an assisted living facility. It all came down to getting as much money as he could out of my mom. She has limited funds and extensive medical needs. Getting her out of there has cost her greatly. I do not recommend the morada in Temple, Texas.

Knowledgeable accounting personnel needed. Our bill has been incorrect since May 2023. The new director was made aware, but has failed to help. Housekeepers do the minimum. Needed assistance moving in, none was offered. Can take up to 1.5 hours to get a meal. Very understaffed kitchen and dining. Food is not as advertised. I like this facility and [name removed]. The tenants are happy and friendly. I would recommend to a friend for that reason.

One of my biggest complaints is we needed it to be an assisted living center to qualify for long term care and I feel as though they misrepresented themselves. If you look online it says assisted living and when I was going through the tour someone told me it was assisted living. When I was going through insurance it said it was not - so I felt that was misrepresented. We will end up having to move them again because of that. The people are great its just the administration that has been bad. Every month I have to contact the business manager - we are given late fees and they are telling us they are not receiving payments. It is very frustrating. It is also very hard to get a hold of anyone, they don't respond emails or call back. The facility and the staff members are great, but the business end of things is not so great.

January 20, 2023We appreciate your feedback, Mitzi. If you would like to discuss your experience further, don't hesitate to reach out to us at (254) 323-7134 or infomt@moradaseniorliving.com. We would love the opportunity to resolve any issues.
The cost was too high for us.
We chose Morada Temple because they had cottages that were separate, so it is like you are living in your own place. The cottages are very nice size. The staff members have been very helpful and friendly. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

Come on over is what I would tell others. The people are great. The staff and residents are friendly. This is the smartest move we The food is being delivered to us due to the pandemic. Sometimes the food gets cold before it gets to us. I think things are good as they can get.

I liked the little cottages this community had, which is what i lived in. It had a full kitchen where i could cook my own meals. The community provided meals for the residents as well and it was okay. I would recommend this community if you have the money for it.

The nursing home/snf part of this facility is the absolute worst I have ever seen. My 89 year old neighbor whom I have looked after for 12 yrs was sent there for rehab after a fall and low blood pressure issue. She was given a med that made her so lethargic she was unable to stay awake long enough to feed herself and they did not try to assist her. In addition she was rarely bathed unless I had a fit. She went up to 4 das at a time it was so frustrating. This place is terribly understaffed. I would not put anyone I know or love there. 0 stars

Pool not covered for use in winter. No windows in kitchens. No garages, just carports which still keep cars in elements and charge is extra above rental fee. Transportation must be signed up for a day in advance, Tiny library, no real activities or events scheduled.

Truly for independent living. Some assistance is available but only during the daytime and for a price. Shuttle runs every hour except 12 and stops usually around 4(?). Residents discuss that they don't rcv what they order for meals. The main dining room has order takers at the table but still don't always rcv what you order. The smaller dining room encourages residents to order for the full week in advance. So many rules and different people to contact. Very confusing initially. Found one contact, Personal Living Services suoervisor, who answered my questions and arranged pretty much everything for mom even when texted on her cell in evenings. She's very responsive. Many activities if you're willing to be active. Activity room is on opposite side of bldg. Quite a few inclines in the hallways in the apartment areas.Very difficult for wheelchairs and walkers. Make friends with front desk who can direct you.

I really like it here at Brookdale Meridian Temple. It is a beautiful community. Everyone here is very pleasant and friendly. I can't wait until my wife sells the house and can join me. I have other family members that live here in the community. I enjoy their company and we sometimes eat meals together. They provide two meals a day and offer a plan for a third meal. The food is really good and if you want something different they offer alternative choices. Coffee and juice is available anytime you want. They provide anything and everything in the way of activities. There are card games, going out to eat, and dancing. There is a heated pool and have classes for water aerobics and water yoga. There is an exercise room. I really like our apartment and love the shower. There are a stove, refrigerator, and a new microwave and a dishwasher. We really wanted one with a backyard. But there was not one available at the time. They offer emergency alert devices for a fee, and they offer 24-hour nursing care. It is nicely handicap accessible and pet-friendly. I've already recommended this community to another family member who might be coming out to take a look at our new residence.

My husband, and I am pleased with our move to this community. It is a great facility with kind people. They have a very friendly staff, and provide a positive atmosphere for the residents. The community is well-kept, they do a good job with the cleanliness. They offer plenty of activities, and provide nice meals. This is a community I would recommend to my family, and friends. It has worked out well for us.

This is a nice clean community and my sister enjoys living here for the most part. She does say that the food is terrible and she can not eat it. She has a nice cottage with a full kitchen. The staff are helpful and encouraging. They do offer daily activities. I would recommend taking a look at this community and trying the food before you decide.

I love living here! All the events available here are top notch. They keep me busy, entertained and challenged. The Resident Programs Director, [Removed] and her Asst., [Removed] always listen to new ideas, and implement suggestions right away. . I am learning all about an Ipad, and its great! It's also a place where residents are honored and acknowledged as individuals. The Speaker's Bureau highlights a resident monthly, and I have learned new things about my friends here.. Living here is a fun and caring environment.!

In just 24 hours of moving my father-in-law from Wellington (stay away from there!) to Temple Meridian, he is coherent, moving, and in far better condition. I literally cried with relief 20 minutes after arriving because a wonderful nurse [Removed] asked all of the questions that told me they actually were planning to give him medical care rather than simply let him lay there and wither away. I cannot say enough great things about the staff, the cleanliness of the facility, or quality standards they have.
