Our family really likes the big rooms in the apartments with the large bathrooms. The French doors opening to the private patio is nice as well as the walk-in closet. The reason we gave the overall experience a 4 is because they were in the process of getting a new director. Monarch Place offers a hospitable environment for seniors who need assisted living services. Cozy, recreational spaces like the library and fireplace seating in the lobby offer socialization opportunities, while the intimate dining area sets the scene for southern style meals. This pet-friendly community receives input from their managing partner, Greenbrier Senior Living, to determine the best ways to offer high quality care. Since this is a nonprofit community, resources are invested directly into making the lives of residents more fulfilling- not for owner profits. Person-centered care allows each resident to receive assistance with the personal care tasks that they might need while still respecting their independence.
A mixture of on- and off-site activities provide several options to choose from so each day is enjoyable. Natural beauty abounds in Hanceville and the surrounding areas, creating a peaceful backdrop for everyday activities like shopping and dining. Just minutes away, The Evelyn Burrow Museum features porcelain, pottery, and glass works of art.

Awful, not the least bit friendly, completely zero professionalism. Awful is my only way to describe. Awful.

We had a great tour experience at Monarch Place. The facility were a little more what we were looking for as far as size of the room. And my family member could bring her dog if she wanted to. The staff would even help take care of the dog if she was not able to, which was the first we had heard of that being a possibility in assisted living. They were super excited to have her come and tour, and there were residents out and about while we were walking around who told us how much they liked it there. It seemed like a very nice place for her to go. It was just too far away, and we wouldn't have been able to visit as often.

A Place for Mom has scored Monarch Place 5.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
