We can't say enough good things. Mom is receiving wonderful care. The staff enjoys their job, and they love the residents. I feel so blessed that we found this facility. My mom is well cared for, and they do so much with the residents. They have activities. Moms room is always clean and the laundry is always done.

July 15, 2022Kathy, thank you for the kind words about our community. It's heartwarming to hear you are so happy with your mom's care. We appreciate you sharing this review!
My father was in memory care and they were at less than half capacity, so you'd think they could provide decent, responsible care. Within a week his first fall was a mystery. He had serious bruising and a cut wrist, but no one could say exactly when or where or how he got hurt. A few days later, while we were searching for a better option, he fell while standing up in the main living area. He was the only resident there and 2-3 staff members were across the room. Staff watched it happen, and even though he was know to have balance issues and was prone to standing up abruptly, no one thought to position him near a staff. He smashed his head on an end table and died about 10 days later. The facility is beautiful and they tout the dining options. The company culture is just so twisted to place so much emphasis on appearances and to value actual care so little. Just stay away from this place.

Sometimes my loved one has to wait a while for things to be updated or taken care of but overall the place is very nice. It is expensive but with the feeling and the experience that she is getting it is worth it.

September 30, 2021Thank you for the positive review!
Very little that we were told about this place was true. We spent 8 months at Modena. The facility is very nice. The problem is the management. It is understaffed and the staff is poorly trained. Often waited an hour to get a meal. The general manager does not like to be questioned and will retaliate if criticized. She lost half her office staff in the first 6 months and the caregiver staff is like a revolving door. An LPN is in charge of care and medication. The inconsistencies in how this was handled is the major reason we left.

We have had a lot of issues with her oxygen, the staff could be trained better on that. Once I get a hold of nurses I can usually get an answer, but it is hard to get a hold of them. I do think it is improving, there was just a lot going on in the beginning. It is a beautiful facility, it is like a fancy hotel. Out of the ones we saw this was definitely the best. The technology is a 10, they have monitors everywhere, they have watches they wear if they need help, etc. The dining area is gorgeous, they have happy hours on Tuesdays. I would recommend to others looking.

September 20, 2021Thank you for the review and feedback! Our residents definitely enjoy happy hour on Tuesdays and any other special occasion to gather in the restaurant together! Leveraging technology to improve quality of care and give residents & families confidence is one of our top priorities. I'm sorry to hear you had difficulty reaching our nurses regarding oxygen but happy to know the process has smoothed itself out. Our entire leadership team is on call 24/7 so we can be available to residents and their families when needed.
They absolutely have amazing move in discounts—because their so-called nurse(who is no more than an LPN) and executive team refuse admission to anyone who actually needs help! As a result, this place is empty. When it became time to evaluate my parent, the nurse refused to see him, she refused to speak to me, and she refused to contact a nurse or a Dr. who has his case history. No one with any authority would even agree to a conversation with me. I spoke to their moving partner, Mike Gallagher, and he said this happens to alot of people! They lied and said that the state had regulations prohibiting residents with wounds (my parent had no wound, he had a skin graft). I called the state, this statement about wounds was a blatant LIE-the only thing the state worries about are pressure sores and he has none! Please note, they had my money and still refused to do their due diligence. A total of THREE other facilities have accepted him. Steer clear of this place!

I would recommend the community highly. They helped us in a difficult situation. This is a brand new community. The rooms are brand new and have never been used before. The staff have come from another community that has been around for decades. They are concerned about their image as well, and trying to make a positive experience for everyone.

July 20, 2021Thank you for the kind words about our dedicated team members - they truly are a gift. It's humbling to hear that we were able to help you in a time of great need. Thanks for choosing to be a part of the Modena family!
I was very disappointed with how the property was presented to me vs. what became reality when my loved one moved in. I feel they misrepresented themselves in the presentation of the property. Covid was a factor, but there was more to it. I feel like they just tell the prospect everything they want to hear so they sign on the dotted line. Originally, I thought my loved one would have enough cognitive abilities to be in the assisited living section. A few days before I was to hand them the check for the efforts month's rent, I was told by the executive director that she would have to move into the memory care section, or we would have to shake hands and walk away. They did not indicate that they were going to go that route through the whole process of interviewing and assessing. It was at the very end that they laid that bomb in my lap. And it's caused quite a few personal problems for me. That could have been related to the fact that it was a brand new facility with brand new employees. I believe that my loved one has the least amount of cognitive disorders of anyone else in the memory care unit, and they agreed with me. I felt like it was too late at that stage to cancel and move to another facility. They did agree to waive the difference in the cost increase, but only for 6 months. As far as cleanliness, there's nothing I've seen that stood out to me as not clean, and it's still a brand new facility. I believe they're only up to about 31 residents at this point. I've been very impressed with the people I've come into contact who interact with my loved one day in and day out. They seem to be very responsive to her. If anybody were to call me and say we're considering Modena Cherry Creek, I would tell them all of the above. I still think the staff do a pretty good job, but I don't think it was handled well from the very beginning. But my loved one seems to be doing well there, and that's what matters most to me.

July 20, 2021First of all, we thank you for your feedback. We certainly understand how difficult the initial transition was when it became clear memory care was the best path. We're over the moon to see how well your sister has been doing with all of her friends here. She's a joy, always quick with a smile, and ready to dance anytime the music starts playing! You've been an amazing advocate for her and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation with the ever-changing Covid guidance we experienced the past many months. Coming together as a community, we have kept our residents safe and healthy!
We chose Modena Cherry Creek because it was brand new at the time. The rooms here are generous size. She does not participate but there are a lot of activities that are provided. The meals are chef prepared and she really enjoys them. The staff are so with it and on top of things. They are all so kind and loving and they are great with the families as well. They are very welcoming, well coordinated, and know what they are doing which really puts us at ease. I would highly recommend to others looking.

A Place for Mom has scored Modena Cherry Creek 6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
