We placed our mother here a few months ago as she was too vulnerable to be discharged home from hospital. We expected a difficult transition period as she has Alzheimer's and liked being in her home. But with the staff support, lovely surroundings and personal attention mom settled in very quickly. They even asked for list of foods she liked and disliked as she's not a great eater. Mom even asked us to promise we never move her and her final days spent there. I'm a retired nurse and can't fault the staff's care and intervention.... always knowing when advanced care is needed and calling an ambulance when appropriate. Mercy homes are privately owned and managed by a nurse so the quality and care are excellent. I especially appreciate the direct communication and involvement I have with her when it involves my mother's care. I do not live locally so she organizes face-to-face calls with mom and I which is medicine in itself. Thank you to all at Mercy Family Home (2).... Read more

I had recently taken a tour of this community for my mother and I thought the staff did a great job with the presentation. It is a very large home with lots of great amenities for the residents. Although I thought the house was very beautiful it was just very large and felt just like an assisted living facility. I was just looking for more of a small family home for my mother.

The Family Home owner was very pleasant to talk to, and answered all my questions, and then some. I was told what items I needed to supply. They have RNs on duty all the time, and this was a nice thing to know. They treat all the patients there with the care that the patients there need. I was very comfortable with the decision to put my Mom there.

A Place for Mom has scored Mercy Family Home 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
