Moving Mom in and dealing with everything from physically getting her there, to the financial part, to the paperwork part - they made it all super easy. And it was very much about what was best for Mom. I never felt any pressure or felt like it was a sales pitch of any sort. Recently I had the opportunity to meet the former director , and she said that what she always told her staff was they don't live where they work, but they work where the residents live. And they work for the residents. And that's exactly what I see. Mom has her home there in her little apartment, and they work for her. They made the transition very easy. And it has been a really good experience. The facility is in close proximity to doctor offices and the hospital. which is very convenient. And they're willing to do transportation to and from appointments if you need it. The doctors and the facility work well together, as well as the pharmacy we use. Magnolia Manor has really good relationships with outside providers and maintains good communication with me about Mom's care. So far they seem to be on the ball without me having to ask, and they've handled things very well. They stick to a routine, which is great for my mom, who has Alzheimer's. They're very complimentary to her, and very encouraging to me. They work on even little problems until they get it figured out. They let me know regularly that she's doing well, which I appreciate. It's a small facility, with about 24 residents in assisted living. The rooms themselves are a nice size and big, but the facility overall is small, so they function very much as a community. I know she's getting more personalized care than she would in a larger facility. Magnolia Manor South is a ministry as well, affiliated with the Methodist church. And they really care about their residents. I can't imagine a better or easier experience.... Read more

Response from Magnolia Manor South
September 12, 2022Thank you for taking the time to give us such an outstanding review! We appreciate each of our residents and their families.
It's a beautiful facility. Mon loves her apartment, and she has her own things there, which is nice and makes it feel like home. The main thing is she feels very secure, which was huge for her. We don't interact with the staff every day, but the staff I've engaged with have always been kind and accommodating. Mom loves the food. They bring her lunch every day, and every day she tells me how good it is I think Magnolia Manor South is an excellent value.

I loved this community site on the scene. I knew as soon as I walked in the door this was the right place for my grandparents. The staff is wonderful so caring and kind. They really care about their residents to the point when my grandmother was in the hospital not only did the staff go up to see her but they took my grandfather up them to visit her which was up and beyond what they should do. They love the food and they attend their church services the community holds which is nice.
