Lincoln-Douglas Apartments

I find this site a misrepresentation of the entire apartment community. My mother has been a paying tenant there for almost 7 years. The rent increases with each small social security cost-of-living increase, though the coin operated laundry facility (and many other issues) are by no means updated to be efficient for disabled residents. The on-site manager behaves in a bully-ish way and her behavior is unprofessional and strange. She engages in gossip with residents discussing circumstances that should be regarded as private and confidential. This is very disturbing. My mother has been told several times over the last 7 years that there are no handicap accessible apartments available for rent. However, this was proven not true. I am left to wonder if a residents well-being is aligned with how well they are liked by the manager and those residents who are mobile enough to wander the building violating people's privacy for their own bizarre entertainment. The manager seems to have an investigative team available to her to report on the private lives of other residents. I live out of state, but recently had a sibling return to Quincy to help our mother throughout some health issues. Many things have come to light. I am filing complaints with the state tomorrow. God bless those poor souls who are truly on their own there and do not have anyone to intervene. It's a beautiful building with what seemed to be a wonderful intention. But clearly something is awry. My mother was told she was being "watched". She is a disabled shut-in with severe health problems. What kind of people run this place?
