I've been a resident of Lexington Commons in Newport News Virginia for 2 yrs. The Maintenance Mgr, [name removed], is excellent. By contrast, the entire apartment community here has voiced dissatisfaction with the lack of work ethic, the incompetence and the hostility towards residents which has been demonstrated by the Community/Property Mgr,[name removed]. This situation has created low resident morale, confusion, and residents' questions going unaddressed. Security of the buildings is wholly ineffective and has resulted in the thefts of all community property and amenities which can be physically carried out of the buildings.

My first impression was a -1. This place had an odor and as I preceded to take a tour with the manager, I understood why. The carpets are very dirty (filthy) and stained, hallway walls and doors need to be painted yrs ago. How can the property managers allow these conditions to get so bad??? Do the actual property owners ever go to their own properties to see these conditions first hand? Residents should not be paying rent and have to live under these conditions. It's sad to see how senior citizens are being taken advantage of. Presentation sells "everything".

Looks are deceiving. The exterior is suitable but the common areas inside lack proper housekeeping. It's embarrassing to have guests visit and see large stains in hall carpeting, hallways not vacuumed in a while, ect.

A Place for Mom has scored Lexington Commons 2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
