Legacy House Elder Care on Lee

I had a family member who lived there. The care givers were wonderful and seemed to be truly compassionate about the residents. Although staff turnover was frequent. I understand the ownership and administrator of this facility has changed at the beginning of this year. The previous Administrator, according to county property records still owns the property. Many of the property maintenance issues are not addressed on a regular basis (specifically plumbing) and may be charged back to the resident/residents family. I would caution prospective residents and families to scrutinize the details of the contract they are signing. Especially if the prospective resident receives Medicaid Long Term Care Benefits. Additional rate charges for care were disguised as an "up-charge" and we have had to file with the State of Colorado for Medicaid Fraud. The case is currently under investigation by Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing.

The Legacy House Elder Care welcomed my mom with open arms. When they found out her birthday was within the week of moving in, they quickly put together a birthday party for her, and even brought up the idea of having her little dog live with her in order to make her transition and stay more homy. There is always an awake staff on hand. All of them were extremely nice, patient, and knew how to calm my mom down when she had fits. The staff to patient ratio was 1 (sometimes 2) -6, which is something you will never find in a larger community setting. The residents were treated with respect and compassion by the wonderful attentive staff and I am so glad we choice to place my mom there.

The staff here is great. They are helpful and attentive. I like the fact that the facility takes suggestions from the residents. The facility itself is always clean and well maintained. Overall, this has been a good experience.

The facility is very clean and had no Oder. All of the staff are friendly and helpful and the have activities for the residents every day I defenetly would recommend legacy.

I don't have any concerns. He seems to be fairly happy and content. The staff is pretty helpful, and friendly. They keep everything very neat and tidy. The residents seem to be engaged in activities. They have birthday parties, where the families can come and meet each other and spend time. Even the family of a resident that had passed away, showed up. The owner says they have become kind of like an extended family. I don't get complaints about food. They are very accommodating and have a varied menu, and even try to incorporate suggestions from the residents. I like the home environment. I feel like they are doing a great job.

The workers there at Legacy Care are very kind and considerate and are very nurturing to my mom, which I like a lot. It's a beautiful facility, and they provide great meals, and are very helpful with the medications. One area I do see where they could improve would be in the activities. They mentioned a few activities they would have which have not come to fruition just yet. They are a fairly new place so I am sure they have had other things keeping them busy and trust that this issue will be resolved soon.
