Fox Trail Review

I absolutely LOVE the Lavender Hills facility and staff! The facility is a quiet location with beautiful front blooming spring tree in the front. The staff is so helpful and kind and anything I have questions about, they are right there to explain things to me. I feel like my mom is in good hands here. I would whole-heatedly recommend Fox Trail at Orange to anybody who is looking for care for their loved ones!... Read more

Terrible Place

This is a terrible place. Do not put a family member there. They don’t take care of them. They don’t help them and you don’t get services you pay for.

Nice small facility

I would tell others we chose this facility because my parents needed memory care and my dad did not, but they were able to house them in the same building. They kept us up to date by email and conference calls about what was going on inside the facility. My dad was not very happy with the food and they did have a lot of turnover of staff but I would recommend them to others looking.

Would highly recommend them

We are not able to go inside the community, but our loved one says the cleanliness of the place is fine. She loves the meals and especially enjoys pot roast day. We think the value for cost is excellent. The care that the staff provides the patients and their families is like nothing we have ever seen.

The absolute worst decision I've ever made!!!

This was the worst experience of mine & my mother's life! In the 2 short months I kept her there, the staff allowed her carpet to be flooded twice by a memory care resident's stopped up toilet, the fire marshal discovered the fire damper in her room was broken, the outdoor heating unit went out in the winter, & the staff left my mother in a cold room an entire day until I arrived the next day & asked to be released from the lease without penalty, and I removed her that day. (The heat was out 3 days!) They weren't doing activities except singing, and nail painting until I complained to the VP of Operations, & although the menu would list tasty lunch & dinner dishes, more than half of the time the actual meals mainly consisted of pasta & canned or frozen processed foods. The snacks were mainly vendor-machine type packaged crackers or cookies. I had to have the Virginia Dept. of Social Services get involved regarding the Dietary/menu issues, because the Kitchen Manager/Head cook said the VP of Operations was only giving her $1,000/week to feed 22 residents & purchase gloves & kitchen supplies!!! My question is where is the money actually going??? Because the company had a revenue in 2018, of about $7million dollars! The male cook treated my mother disrespectfully, and the Resident Care Coordinator even said he was rude, when I spoke to him twice & he ignored me to my face. Other staff members gossiped, & had their boyfriends or their kids hanging around the facility, while they were supposed to be working. Most staff members were young, immature, and unprofessional, taking smoke breaks while my mother & I were locked in the foyer about 10 minutes ringing the doorbell on 2 occasions. Only a few staff members actually put their cell phones down long enough to work or answer questions. This was the worst decision I've ever made, so please read & BELIEVE the negative reviews on google about all 4 Virginia locations, because they are run by the same VP of Operations & Director of Operations who are best friends. They'll give you their cell phone number & say feel free to contact us with any problems, but then when things go wrong, they'll ignore your call & instead send text hours later saying they were in meetings, etc. basically what I call "smoke & mirrors". I never even received a call or text for 4 days from the Facility Director the day my mother fell at the facility & had to be rushed to the emergency room, & was gone 4 days to treat a 3 inch head wound. Which indicated to me that these people don't actually care, they just pretend to! Several of the positive reviews on google are written by Foxtrail employees that you can find listed on LinkedIn, so don't be bamboozled like I was by positive reviews, believe the detailed negative reviews, because Hollywood couldn't make up these experiences at Foxtrail!

Fox Trail Senior Living Review

So far we are very pleased with Fox Trail Senior Living Memory Care. The employees are very friendly and seem to care about the quality of care they provide to the residents. The facility is clean and doesn’t have a Nursing home odor. They offer activities to the residents that are able to participate.

Great Facility for Our Parents

Mom and Dad received a lot of love from the staff. They treated our parents as family and welcomed all of us when we went to visit (5 kids, grand kids and their families, and other relatives). Parents went into Fox Trail at Thanksgiving. Mom ended up in the hospital with a heart condition and passed away. Dad ended up in the hospital a month later with a medical issue. These last few days as dad went from the hospital back to Fox Trail on hospice as his life was winding down, the staff took excellent care of him. They tended him as one of their own, kept him comfortable, fed him ice cream (he couldn't eat) and took care of his needs. They cried with us, prayed with us, and hugged us too. The small size of Fox Trail was a bonus for our parents. Dad had dementia, but Mom didn't, and they would take him for a walk in the hall at night and do activities with him if he kept Mom up, so she could sleep. All of our family was very pleased with the service our parents received while at Fox Trail. I worked in senior care for 20+ years and was very impressed with the facility and staff.

Awful Facility

We placed our loved one in this facility. It has been the biggest mistake we have ever made. While a few staff members are wonderful and have a passion for their profession the majority are AWFUL. They are rude to the residents and familes alike..they hardly speak when walking into the facility.. activities are not conducted for the residents...when addressed with management the response is many residents aren't interested in activities or are unable to participate and it is difficult to conduct activities bc so many residents are high need and belong in a nursing facility.. therefore they require a lot of the staffs time. However a calendar is posted with daily activities. In addition the entire building is consumed with mold...they are currently working to remove it with plastic and huge fans throughout the building. In addition social services has investigated the facility based on recent [Removed] allegations. The list goes on... STAY far away from this place...it's truly terrible!!!!

Skip This One.

I stopped in to tour recently when noticed a group of ladies gathered around that looked like they worked there. They were talking about the new company that took over and how they hadn't been paid and problems with their pay! If a company can't pay the people that would take care of my mother - I don't trust the company to take care of my mother. Not to mention there was an extreme smell of urine in the doorway. I didn't go far but I noticed all the patients sitting in the doorway looking out. The whole thing was depressing so I am keeping mom at home for now.

Caring and friendly facility

My father was a resident in the Orange facility for 1 month and then was able to be moved to Amerisist of Culpeper which is much closer to family. The staff at Orange were very friendly and supportive of my father's needs. Tanika the resident manager frequently checked in with my father to make sure the asssisstance he needed was providied and also check on is physical and mental health were staying on track. She noted the same things I did regarding days when he was slightly confused and just not him self. The facility did not hesitate to call me with concerns or questions. I felt comfortable with my father being there.
