Be careful this place is not what it seems, my family member once live here, The owner never comes around, and a family member who visits his love one is rude, selfish and comes any hours of day and evening, waking up other residents, Need to be rules that stands for all love ones visiting!!

Laurelwoods Personal Care Home is a good place!!

I have not tried it but my sister seems to like the food at this care home. They keep the community clean and I would recommend it. The caregiver Trevel is amazing, patient, caring and helps keep the residents active. He makes the care home better.

Nice place!

Overall we're pretty pleased with how things have turned out at Laurelwoods Personal Care Home! The home is very clean, and the care staff are all very friendly and personable. The house manager is nice and very involved with the residents. I do think they could use a few more staff on hand, but overall it's a nice place and they take good care of the people who live here.

Max 8 residents. Pricing r...

Max 8 residents. Pricing range $1750 - $2900 based on care level, which is estimated to be $2000 due to incontinence, some ambulation, some forgetfulness. Owner Oby says they offer semi-private, but only for married couples. Owner does not live onsite. Has two caregivers that cycle on/off but neither lives there full time. One floor, wheelchair access is on side of house. Off Tilly Mill Rd. Anticipated vacancy due to resident who is aging out. One resident is aging out - available room is fairly large with small private bathroom. Comes furnished. Basic cable in room is included. A caregiver is always there, but no one lives there full time. House is old and a little dingy with old furnishings but is very clean and tidy. Nice screened-in patio. Residents are very out of it compared to my parent. Full as of 4/1/14.

Small environment is great for one on one care

Its good for our needs, I don't have a lot to compare it to cost-wise but care wise, they just distribute medications; there are no visiting doctors or nurses which for the most part is alright. It would be helpful sometimes to be able to get that though. For instance, the doctor wants blood to monitor her meds so our only option is to go pick her up, take her to the doctor and go back home. She doesn't move very well so it takes both my husband and I to get her which is an enormous undertaking; so if they just had somebody to do that it would be great. I get that they're such a small facility, so its a trade off but we knew that going in. Its more of a home environment, you don't even have to raise your voice and the caregivers can hear you. From a safety and socilaization perspective, the small environment made a huge difference.
