I have a lot of friends with parents at various facilities. I think wherever you place your loved one, you have to be their constant advocate. Overall I think the staff are very accommodating and want to make sure your loved one is safe. They do a good job, and you just have to let them know what you're looking for in order for them to help you. It's nice that they allow pets. I know that's a big thing for some people. It's very clean here. The corners in the hallways are always vacuumed. They're constantly cleaning, and they'll come clean the carpets if you request it. Housekeeping services come into the apartments, and weekly service is included in the rent. They'll clean the toilets, do the laundry, change your bedding, and any time there's an accident they do the laundry for you. The cost is high, but I find it to be in line with similar places in the area.

The front line staff at KMH are generally very kind, caring people. They work hard to make sure residents are comfortable and happy. I had many positive interactions with staff members. The admins, however, do not care at all about the residents. They have numerous state violations for failure to chart episodes of care & if you question an action such as a dressing change, they have no chart notes to back up their actions/claims & they place the blame on the resident if accounts differ. When I was out of town, my mother became suddenly immobile but no one on the nursing staff noticed that she was sitting in her own filth for several days. Once I found out & requested assistance, it took another 2 days to receive bathing assistance. They advertise activities for residents but they can’t keep an activities director & most advertised activities don't take place. I would not recommend KMH. They cut too many corners and admins are not focused on the care of the residents.

Overall it's a pretty good place. Not perfect, but it's not bad. I'd recommend it. They take good care of my loved one, and any issues I would call about they would address. The only thing I would change is the price. I wish they would offer more activities, but I understand they've been limited due to Covid.

We thought moving my parents in during COVID would be a very hard transition, but we were completely wrong. We haven't had any struggle of trying to get in touch with my parents at all and the staff is always so helpful if one of them can't work the phone themselves. If you are thinking about moving your loved one into a community during COVID but don't want to worry about seeing them, getting in contact with them, or keeping them safe KMH is the place you need to take them!!

My grandparents just moved into KMH in the past year and they LOVE it there! The staff is always so nice and make sure to inform us on everything including if one of them has an off day just to keep in touch. The staff is phenomenal and if we ever have any concerns they always get back and fix the issue as soon as things come up. We would recommend KMH to all!!!

My Dad and mom were here then my dad passed and my mom is. She has now been told she has to leave they can't care for her needs. She has dementia and I was shocked that for having all the different levels we have been asked to leave due to her care that she requires. Assistant living is not bad they are very SHORT STAFFED. The remolded is all nice to the eye but lack in the safety and care in skilled. Why would you not have monitors on beds so if one gets up they know or at least fall bracelets they have those in assistant but not in skilled. The little disc they provided for the beds is not enough. And with dementia you can not help they ones that deal with anxiety which is part of the disease.

This community is set up to provide a very family orientated environment. This is very appealing to me. All the showers have been remodeled as rollovers which allowes wheel chair entry. The resent remodel was designed with wheel chair access to all Customer areas. This provides a open feeling.

My husband and I were living here but he wound up having to move because of his dementia and I wound up going back home. The staff was friendly and very kind and they learned names really fast. The nurses learned about you and really took the time to get to know you and answer questions. They always provided a menu when it came time for meals and if you didn’t want what was on the menu, they had a section filled with alternate options. The food was good and there was plenty of it. I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary as far as cleanliness and I thought everything was clean. The only problem I think they had was not having enough waitresses in the morning for breakfast. They provided plenty of activities like cards, swimming in the indoor pool, trips to Walmart, and exercise classes. I really chose this place because I could stay there while my husband did and I definitely recommend it. If I had to have a place to go in my retirement, I would choose this place again depending on the cost.

The care at this community is good, we had a small issue that was resolved with the staff who are caring. I like knowing that he is happy here. The menu is good and he is able to have a variety of choices. I like that he is an activity in a lot of the activities. I would recommend this community. for good care and a nice value for other families.

My father-in-law is settling into the Kansas Masonic Home nicely. It's a beautiful place and the people working there seem very caring and engaged with the residents.

It's a good place, they have so many positive things. The only thing I would say is to ask for an orientation. The staff is very, very friendly, she is content with the housekeeping and the nurses. The food isn't fantastic, but they can order any time during the day, and they have lots of choices. They have a beauty shop there, and she can have the service charged to her bill. They are willing to let you do your own meds, the rules aren't so rigid. Mom picked it because she liked the rooms, she said it felt like home.
