We put mom in King's Palace a week ago. Mom suffers from alzeheimers disease. Our family has been caring for mom at home for the past six years with my sister serving as the primary caregiver. The past six months has been increasingly difficult. Mom has become more disoriented with each passing day. We knew we had to find a residential facility for mom when my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer. Unfortunately, mom has limited financial resources. We've been financially supplementing her monthly care as we had her attend an elder daycare setting twice a week. It's been an expensive journey both emotionally and financially for our family. As we surveyed the options of residential care the costs were staggering--upwards to $4,000-$6000 a month for a memory care unit in a large facility. When we toured the places, we lamented that mom didn't need a fancy venue. We just needed to find her a clean, safe, and kind place where she would be carefully monitored. We couldn't afford fancy. We were delighted to discover the King's Palace in the Woodlands. Touted as "the working class model for elder care", the home is not fancy. At first I was a little worried. I wondered did the mismatched furniture symbolize a level of mismatched care? Not at all!! The care for mom has been outstanding!!!!!. We receive a report every day either through a text or a phone call. When we dropped mom off, the place was spotless!!! Subsequent visits have had the same high standards of cleanliness. The caregivers have been in touch with mom's doctors to set up an appointment. The staff will take mom to all of her appointments at no extra cost. We are thrilled that the there is a residential care facility that specializes in providing affordable care for the alzheimers patient. The cost of $3000/month is just about covered by mom's pension and social security. We can eliminate the cost of the elder day care that we were paying. Mom doesn't know that her room doesn't have cable tv or wall-to-wall carpeting. We know that she is in a safe and caring environment!!!! God bless the folks at King's Palace!!!!... Read more

I am sure that the owner does all she can to provide a good level of care for her residents, but the home is simply not at the level that we require.
