I am no expert on what care should be like. I see people that are in pretty bad shape that require a lot of attention, in my opinion, questionable if they shouldn't be in skilled nursing instead. But what do I know!! Most of the workers try hard to be accommodating, but the shortage of help puts a load on all of them. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in today. The place is clean and does not smell. I wouldn't know if the food was good or not.. my mom eats and does not complain. Keelson was very accommodating when we reached a crisis point and needed a room. I don't know how often activities are encouraged. However the activities director is good with the residents. I would recommend this facility to others. I would recommend this facility to others.

We chose Keelson Harbour because I was hoping he could go into memory care but it did not end up that way. Another reason was I needed to be in a place that had assisted living that could help me in and out of bed. The food here is more institutional and I would prefer more homemade cooking. But the staff members are great and I would definitely recommend.

This is a great place for your loved one. The community takes care of the residents. The staff is well trained and they answer any questions I have. They truly care about my mom. The food is great for my mom now.

My mom seems to be getting good care here at Keelson Harbour. They have been very good about keeping us up to date about her care and accommodating visits on face-time and phone calls since I live out of town. My siblings that are there in IA are having outside visits with her. The facility has just opened back up doing haircuts for the residents and she seems to be happy.

Regarding the Memory Care Assisted Living I would say they have a decent facility with good care. Activities are fairly limited - not always a lot offered, especially on weekends which has been rather disappointing. Beware that this is really just an early to mid-Alzheimers facility. Anything that becomes remotely behavioral will likely require your loved one to be discharged.

My husband and I are living here in the independent living in a 1 bedroom apartment. Housekeeping comes in 1x weekly to clean. We wear life alert necklaces in case of an emergency. They try to engage us to join the daily activities. We have one meal at 12 and some days its good and some days it's not. The staff are nice and friendly. They have a shuttle to take us to Fairway or Walmart or a Dr if we need. This is a pleasant place to live and I would recommend it.

I live out of state from my parents but from what I hear is they have no complaints. I was with them when they chose the community, and it was very nice, clean, and well-maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. We had very high standards for the community to meet my parent's needs and it was a good fit. They are living independently now in the community and they are familiar with the area. It is conveniently located to all of their shopping and their suitable needs. One of the reasons they chose the community is if in the future they ever need assisted living they won't have to pick up and move to another community. Also it a la carte for the care needs, you only pay for what you need, it's not all one lump sum for things you do not need.

A Place for Mom has scored Keelson Harbour 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
