Joy Assisted Living, specifically Hillcrest House, has been the best decision my siblings and I made about placing our sweet mother with advanced dementia. I am in the healthcare field and am familiar with nursing homes, assisted livings, and independent living. This residential care home is the best I've ever encountered. There is rarely turnover in the staff, the staff are so loving and caring toward all the residents; my mother's skin is beautiful which proves how well cared for she is. I can not recommend Joy assisted living enough. Love Hillcrest House and all the staff there. They are angels on earth!!!... Read more

This is a private residential home that can house up to 8 residents. My mother lived there briefly before unexpectedly passing away, however she was in rehab prior to that and they allowed us to reserve a room for her for when she did get out. She was in rehab for 3 months and they never gave us any problems about not paying any rent for those months and honored the reservation when she was able to leave the rehab facility. They even allowed us to move all her things in once we reserved the room. My mom was completely bed-ridden and required help with everything. For the services they provided, the costs were cheaper than anyone else and the service was excellent. Because of the reasonable charges, we were able to keep her out of a nursing home.

This is a group assisted living residence. The atmosphere is casual, the schedule not as rigid as a larger community would be. They provide good nutritious meals. The caretakers I have met are very welcoming and friendly. It feels a lot like home. I feel it is a very good fit for my mother at this stage in her life. They are very understanding of her moods and take them in stride.

A Place for Mom has scored Joy Assisted Living III 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
