A Place for Mom has scored John Manley House with 0 out of 10 using our proprietary review score based on 0 reviews in the last 2 years. Over all time, John Manley House has 1 review with an average "overall experience" of 1 out of 5.
In the process of compiling this information, I can see that there have been too many bad experiences with the John Manley House over a number of years for me to consider being a resident at this facility. 1 To get into the office, you have to be buzzed in. The sign inside the building gives instructions BUT does not tell you what number to dial in order to gain access to the office staffer or the intercom in order to talk with the office staffer. Because of the sunlight, the window with digital lettering on the buzzer located on the outside of the building, is grayed out during the day – the time the office staffer is at work. I could not read the instructions on the buzzer. I had to knock loudly in order to even get into the office. This issue has existed for at least 7 years. 2 Because of • the phone is rarely answered directly (this was my experience for the occasional calls I made over 7 years). The staffer, when calling back, does not communicate the best way to contact her. Calls take about 2 days to return. This is not basic telephone etiquette IF you staffer had any interests in connecting with prospective tenants. The outgoing phone message for John Manley house says “if you’d like information about our community, be sure to leave your name and number. In my 7 years of occasional dealing with John Manley house, information is NEVER forthcoming. Another slammed door. • the information at the door/intercom, does not tell you what number to dial for the office, making it hard to get into the Office building. • the lack of information: communicated verbally (answering questions fully), forwarding people to internet links or phone numbers with useful information, handouts and summary sheets . All this information is not communicated at John Manley House and could be on the web site to cut costs (not on web site, at present). IN ORDER FOR THE INFORMATION TO BE USEFUL, IT HAS TO BE SPECIFIC TO EACH HOUSING FACILITY. Currently only general information pertaining to ALL Habitat America facilities is posted on Habitat America web site. • the lack of interest in getting the information to perspective renters via phone or email • the miscommunication between the staffer and myself during a telephone annual assessment • failure to give people on the waiting list a copy of the phone interview annual assessment so they can check the report for accuracy I decided I wanted a better alternative for myself that was far less frustrating than the process at John Manley. 3 On the Habitat America web site, I found GENERAL INFORMATION that pertains to ALL your facilities. This is useless information, since it does not necessarily apply to the facility I am interested in. In this age of computers information can be listed BY FACILITY. People have a right to know before they are asked to fill out an application what they are getting and how much it costs. This information should be online FOR EACH PROPERTY at Habitat America's web site. I had to go to other websites to get the specific information about this facility.
