My sister was rushed to [name removed] Hospital ICU on [date removed] by EMS. She died [date removed]. The IHCS director told the hospital my sister had no family. She signed medical treatment consent forms when my daughter was her legal POA. She was sent to [name removed] Funeral Home on [date removed] because she was tagged "unclaimed." The director also told [name removed] that she had no family, then emailed my daughter in Austin on [date removed] stating Suzanne died on the 6th, and said she was sending a certified letter mailed to Austin on the 13th with the name of the funeral home, saying we had to wait for the letter to find out where she was. I had SAPD find her on the 15th. When I called [name removed] on the 15th, they were sending her out the next day the 16th for a pauper burial with 2 other people and one headstone. I barely stopped that. [name removed] couldn't legally let me see her because her face had started to decompose. Family has to ok embalming. Email me for pictures. [email address removed]

A Place for Mom has scored IHCS Residential 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
