My aunt stayed at the memory care unit at HomeLife on Glynco for nearly two years. The facility was lovely, safe, and very clean. [name removed] was gracious, warm, and caring, and the staff was EXTREMELY kind and capable. A number of times, I have seen or heard the staff interacting with residents when they thought no one was around, and I can honestly say they treat each person with as much compassion, affection, and empathy as would their residents’ most loving family members if they were there. After my aunt passed, the staff was so kind. When I came for her things, multiple employees stopped me to say how much they loved and missed my aunt, and I truly feel they treated her like they would their own grandmother. Some were brought to tears after her passing, saying how much they missed “my baby” or “my sweetie.” I sincerely appreciate every single kind word, sweet smile, and gentle hand from the staff over the last two years of my aunt's life.... Best decision I made for my Mom. 100% trust in them and what they do every day. I have found them reliable, open, and professional. Many thanks for making a hard decision easy and I know Mom is safe and happy as possible for not being in her own home.

Response from HomeLife on Glynco
March 5, 2019Thank you for the review! We are happy your Mom is part of our family.
I have no complaints of how things had went for myself during my tour of this community for possible living arrangements. The staff where on time to my appointment and made sure to answer any questions I had for them in detail. I liked the open floor plan and all of the great amenities they had available for the residents. It was just not the right location for me in the end decision.

My father is doing fine with his move to this community. I'am comfortable with his move here. I know he is safe, and in good hands. They are taking good care of him, and his needs. They have a good staff, they are attentive, and helpful. Everything is working out well for us in this community.

My sister and I visited a dear friend of ours today at Homelife on Glynco. What a beautiful facility. Many years ago our mother was here. The renovations are great. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating. We spoke with the administrator and told her that our mom was here and that we are so pleased that the facility is still here and doing so well. We even took her card and brochures to have to give out to our friends. You should stop by and visit, this just might be the place for your loved one!

The facilities are outstanding, even if there are only 10 bedrooms for Alzheimer/Memory Care residents. The monthly fee is only $3500. The food has been excellent. I have found only two problems and they are very minor. 1, The ice cream sandwich desert was placed on the dinner table along with the food plate. The ice cream was extremely soft when it came time to eat it. 2. One day a care giver told a resident they could not lay down on one of the sofas in the living room. The next day another resident was laying down and sleeping on a sofa in the living room and the same care giver said nothing. When we first moved my wife into the facility, I was told that all medicines had to be in possession of a local pharmacy which would repackage each medicine in a individual packet for daily consumption. The fee for this service was $25.00/month. A check with a state agency said this was not a reqjirement. Further, over the counter vitamins in bottles that did not have a pharmacy label had to be repackaged by the chosen facility pharmacy. I have not been charged for this service after one month's residence. I highly recommmend this facility.

We had a hard decision to make, mom's doctor told us she could no longer stay home by herself. In home care is so very expensive, so we began our search for assisted living. We had no idea what to look for or what questions to ask. The first facility we visited was Homelife on Glynco. We were shown around by the administrator. As we looked around the facility we were introduced to every person working, they all spoke and had a smile on their face. As we were wrapping up our visit we were taken back to the front office, we were given the chance to ask any questions that we may have, and of course couldn't think of one. I still remember the last thing that Kim said to me, she told me to tour other facilities in the area and she gave me the best information of the whole visit, walk in for a tour at a facility and you will see the true every day operation. So I thought to myself why would this lady tell me to look elsewhere. But that was the best suggestion. We went to several other facilities and they would not even talk to us without an appointment. One in particular would not even let us walk around in the facility to look. So about a week later we moved our mom in and could not be happier! Best decision we ever made oh and did I mention we walked in no appointment during lunch and was taken right in, not treated as if we were a bother.

We looked and looked for my mother, from south Ga to north Fl. My husband found this facility and gave the Director a call, she was very pleasant and informative over the phone. She invited us to a lunch and a tour. We went over a weekend and was toured by the community relations director, she was informative and seemed to care unfortunately we were unable to stay for lunch. We narrowed our search to Homelife and one in Jacksonville. Our decision was based on the genuineness of Kim and Mandy. They endured many phone calls from myself and my husband. Move in day finally arrived, I was a basket case. My husband went to the room with my mom and Mandy and I stayed in the office with Kim both were very reassuring to me and that is what I needed. We made the best decision by choosing Homelife, my mom has settled nicely and she loves the care staff. If you need a place for your loved one this is it!

Toured this facility a couple of time now. Meet with the Marketing Director and the administrator, both we very professional and accommodating. I toured myself then brought my family for a tour and lunch. Food is excellent. We have had our loved one in a facility in another state and the food was awful. I have toured facilities here in Brunswick as well as out of state. This is by far our favorite. We are planning to move in real soon.

Meet with the local director and the corporate director. My entire family walked in unannounced and they took us right in. Both seemed to care about the situation my family was in. We ate lunch which was very good. We will be moving in as soon as we get all of the details in order. Our mother has been home by herself and that no longer works. We have tried sitters that is too expensive. I you are looking for folks that will take the time to talk, or mainly listen I do not think you will go wrong here.

very unprofessional approach to sensitive FAMILY matters, by self proclaimed "professionals" . Owner/Director is quick to make judgements and criticisms on personal decisions made by the responsible parties for their loved ones when she has NO concept of her clients family dynamics, history, etc. If being judged for your decision making on an already excruciatingly unpleasant situation does not bother you or keep you up at night, then this place may be for you. If that is not the case, my recommendation is to STAY AWAY. This review is based on my own personal experience with this facility, and is in no way an attack against the staff.

The executive director [Removed] is very unprofessional to and around the staff. She's known to say things that are very unprofessional as a supervisor to her employees. She very uncaring and uncompassionate to her staff. She gives the facility a very bad rep even some family members have complained of her attitude towards them. As long as she's there this business will never thrive as a good facility.

This is a very nice place! I like the people that are here because they are very attentive. I also like that the nurse's station overlooks the living area for the residents. The staff all seem perfectly comfortable with my loved one's level of care, and they can also administer insulin shots in the memory care wing. This place isn't as swanky as the others, but it's a lot cheaper! The director is an RN, so she has lots of experience with memory care patients. Overall, we are real happy!
It's great to find a place that happens to be the BEST value for private pay care in Glynn County. We've found that the staff really care about the individuals that call HomeLife on Glynco their home. The food is always good and the nursing/cna staff very polite. When the number of residents improve, I'm sure the activities will as well. That's really the only thing I could find that we didn't like. We are very pleased in choosing this facility for Mom and she seems very happy there. From what we understand, the new flooring, landscaping and other improvements are just a start for the new owners. We encourage anyone looking to place a loved one in private care, to at least visit HomeLife on Glynco and see for yourself.
The below addresses staff turn over I do not agree.....my mom has been here for many years and I see the same faces, and they care which is a big deal to me and my family. I have never asked a caregiver or a nurse to help my mom and was refused nor neither was I put off! Plus they have nurses giving medications not techs which is also a plus to us. You can not go wrong by bringing your loved one here.
I would Never recommend this facility to anyone. The turnover of staff is ridiculous there's not enough staff to accomodate the residents to provide the best care to your loved ones. For the prices you would expect better.
