Home Instead - Mountlake Terrace, WA

I live out of town and am the POA for my sister who lives in Shoreline. I'm so thankful for the staff of the Mountlake Terrace Home Instead! My sister has dementia and lives in a memory care facility. Home Instead has provided consistent regular companionship for over a year, taking her out twice a week. Her companion has such compassion and patience. The way she redirects my sister is so very professional. The daily written summary that I can easily access, helps me know what's going on. Thank you! You are a God-send and such a blessing to our family!

The day after we contacted Home Instead, Our caregiver came by our home to meet us. Our relationship clicked almost immediately. It took my wife a little longer to get comfortable, but she's the one that needed the care, so that's understandable. Our caregiver is about the same age as our children, so that was a plus, too. She had children that were the same age as our grandchildren. She very quickly became like family to us. She called my wife mamma [name removed] and took care of her like she was her own mother. I can't tell you how much she's meant to us. Two weeks ago I had to move my wife to memory care, she agreed to stay on during my wife's transition and that, too, was very helpful. If I had to do this all over again, I wouldn't hesitate to use Home Instead.

From our first call to start services to communications since then, we have been very satisfied with the care and services we have received. My mom was very hesitant to start in home care, but once she met the staff, and saw the positive results of their care for her, she admits it was the right thing to do. All the staff who visit are friendly, cheerful and helpful with any task mom or I ask them to provide. I like that there is another set of eyes checking in with her, and providing companionship outside of family. If I have a question, I know who to call and it's nice to talk with real people, not a machine. I am very impressed with the staff who visit, they make my mom feel special and cared for. Everyone has made this transition very smooth and our family is very relieved and thankful.

We have been using Home Instead in-home care for our mother for about the past year and a half, and I am thoroughly impressed with the exceptional service they provide. I do not know what I would have done without your caregiver's help with my husband and myself. Their kindness, patience, and knowing when to step in and help. They have turned a very stressful situation into one of peace and comfort. The office staff are always reachable, pleasant and helpful. The Home Instead care team has provided me with peace of mind knowing that my father has been in good hands when I have been away from home. Knowing that someone is checking in on him and making sure he has some companionship and help around the home when I can’t be there has been a game changer for me. He has always been very pleased with the caregivers, and he loves having the chance to teach them new board games and get a little change from his normal routine. Home Instead provided exceptional care for my mom and dad. Every staff member, from the owner on down, was dedicated, reliable and kind to me as the primary caregiver, and especially to my geriatric parents . The quality of care was incredible, evidenced by kindness, respect, consistency and dedication. The workers were always on time and paid attention to details of the Care Plan. Each person I had contact with helped me be a better caretaker and provided support and assistance with a pleasant, caring and professional attitude. The people in the office were always cheerfully helpful, happy to assist in any way possible. The workers who cared first for my father, then three years later for my mother, each had a stellar work ethic. They all showed respect and caring for my mom and dad, in such a way as to keep their dignity intact. Home Instead provided the kind of caretaking which allowed me to focus on loving mom & dad and put trust in their care, a phenomenal gift.

Home Instead found us a care giver within a week. She has worked out beautifully! My mom can continue to live independently because of this great support.
