Grizzly peak seems to keep their prices just below other companies. But they have a hard time keeping employees, bus drivers, kitchen staff. Their meals are not healthy or fresh, so that's disappointing. Overall they could do some major improvements on the quality

I have not lived there this pass year. After [name removed] had that bad fall and he went into long-term care, it was way to costly for me to stay at Grizzly Peak. From what I have heard from a few of the residents there, the food went down hill, activities director and bus driver quit, and everything in general was not good. Speaking for myself, I would put it at the bottom of my list for senior living. The out of state owners have no idea what us Montana people like for comfortable living. I even had to set them straight on my bill, because they over charged me.
Read MoreWe cannot comment on the activities because our loved one has not participated much in the activities. However what has made it such a great experience so far is their staff team. We recommend this community all the time to others based on our experience and we will continue to do so.

So I called A Place for Mom and [name removed] from Grizzly Peak called me right away and told me what they had to offer I did not know at that time if my mom was ready to move to a facility. Within two weeks my Mom voiced that she wanted to move. I called [name removed] and she had us over for a tour and showed us a variety of rooms. [name removed] was very informative and helpful. Mom chose what room she thought she would like and we started the process. It only took a couple days and we had mom moved in, somewhat. Mom has enjoyed the food very much and has slowly acclimated to getting to know some new people. Grizzly Peak made this process so easy, mom is comfortable and even has been able to have her cat. My sisters and I are very happy with Grizzly Peak and we can see a positive change in mom since she has been there.

Holiday Grizzly Peak is the best! They're friendly and want to do everything they can for their seniors. When it's my turn when I'm older, that's where I would want to stay. The apartments are nice. It's very quiet and comfortable. They let my mom have her dog, which was a big plus. I definitely think it's worth it.

I've been a little disappointed in the food, although it does seem to be getting better. And I saw on the calendar there's a monthly meeting where residents can attend to speak with the chef. This was a big downsize for us, but we got what they call The Suite, which we do pay extra for. But we have a full kitchen, whereas most of the units just have kitchenettes. And we have 2 bedrooms. The second bedroom is quite small, but the master is a really good size. And they turned the second bathroom into a walk-in closet, which I love. We also have a patio with a walkway to the front of the building, which is convenient. We haven't had housekeeping services yet because they're in between housekeepers. The staff are nice overall, but their communication could be a little better. But for the most part, they're lovely people. Like every place right now, they're short staffed, but I think they're doing the best they can under the circumstances. I'm looking forward to getting involved in the activities. They offer a wide variety, including things like book club, intellectual presentations, and bingo. It's nice to have lots of options that don't seem nursing home oriented. And the residents we've met are delightful as well.
Read MoreGrizzly Peak is an older facility and you can see the age in the carpets. I had an issue with housekeeping, it was not being provided for my loved one for the first five weeks. The staff are all friendly and professional, so that was no fault of theirs. I believe the community was struggling with finding adequate staff, so the other floors received housekeeping while the first floor had no one available. The food has been horrible, the dinner lacks variety and is oftentimes overcooked or just not prepared correctly. The other meals are okay. My mom has a dog and the facility allows pets. She likes to take her dog out on the lawn, but the passageway from her patio to the lawn is dangerous. She has to go over rocks and stones, she fell and bruised her face one time. If they could create a safer trail, that would be much better; I’m sure their current setup is a liability. It’s a friendly place with friendly people. I was hesitant to choose this place because of how expensive it is. I just had higher hopes and expectations for the cost of it.

Response from Holiday Grizzly Peak
August 10, 2022Thank you for bringing your mother’s experience to our attention. We have shared your comments with local and regional leadership and are available directly at Resident.Relations@HolidaySeniorLiving.com, if you have future concerns.?
This was a nice community. It was too far from family, and more than we could afford.
I would recommend Grizzly Peak to others for their loved ones. My loved one is fitting in nicely into the community. The staff have been very good to work with when I have questions or concerns. They are cordial, and they know all the resident's names. The staff seem to really pay attention to what the residents are participating in. The food has been good. Some of the activities that are available include exercise class, church services, games, bingo, Wii bowling, and more for the residents to choose from. Meals, housekeeping once a week, and cleaning of linens are included in the monthly fee. The personal laundry is done by the residents and they have washer and dryers available on each floor.

A Place for Mom has scored Holiday Grizzly Peak 9.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
