They are very good with the patients, would be nice if they had a couple more aides. They are considerate and kind. There are Church services offered on Sunday. The place is absolutely beautiful! Food isn't bad, but, could improve... I'm sure if they could get the extra help, a good cook might brighten a few faces.. also, it's very hard to get help. Seems people don't want to work if they don't have to. Same way for activities...field trips were mentioned, but would require helpers for transporting, activities are lacking due to lack of help. It's a beautiful place, and the owner director is very nice as well as the help, but they need more help.... Read more

The facility is beautiful, the grounds and outdoor space is lovely. There is very little in the way of activities. There are cards, tv, and there might be other games. They have a lady who comes and has a Bible study on Sunday afternoons. The girls that work there are ok, some not as friendly. They had Dr. [name removed] who came in semi regularly for brief visits, he hasn't been there for quite awhile according to mom. Would like to see a little LIFE added to their days up there.

My parents have lived at this facility for six years. In that time they have gone from being fairly independent to being dependent for all of their basic needs. There are staff members who call my Dad -"their" Dad and they take extra good care of him. I drop in to visit and am always welcomed -no matter what time of the day it is. The owner is responsive to any concerns I might have. I am very grateful for their care.

Our parents have lived at this facility for six years. We are very satisfied with their care. One has Alzheimers and at the other has Dementia. It is not every facility that is equipped to handle these types of clients nor does every facility want to handle these types. After six years of dropping by unannounced -we are absolutely certain that our loved ones are well taken care of. The staff is loving and caring and has been hand feeding our father for several years. The owner is responsive to our concerns and does not bill us for extra's. We feel very fortunate to have found this facility when we needed their help.

Our parents have been at this facility for 6 years. One has Alzheimers, the other Dementia. We continue to notice how caring and loving the staff is to our loved ones. The owner is responsive to our concerns and we know that our parents are being taken care of. We are not bothered with niggling extra expenses and we can stop in at any time which means a lot to us.

When reading on website they state that they have planned activities which is a lie. They dont have anything plan for their elderly residents and a vehicle is hardly ever there for transportation. The residents are usually sitting laying around doing nothing day to day. Nutrition have you looked at those pictures on the site They are fake pictures and honestly they dont make that kind of food for the residents. A snack can be a piece of cheese or couple of crackers. The smell inside the place was an unpleasant smell of dirtiness and urine along with the residents hygiene are poor. Would you want your mom dad grandma grandpa living in a place like this Everything they have stated on their website is nothing but lies. If you put your loved on in this place they will be neglected isolated abandonment or mental harm plus more. Dont let the pictures esp of the house fool you. Its not what is on the outside its what happens on the inside (SCARY) THINK TWICE!!

A Place for Mom has scored High Desert Residential Care 6.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
