Hazelton Place Retirement Residence

We have just moved in and find residents and staff extremely friendly. The meals are very good with many options. They have a multitude of activities from which you can plan a very satisfying day. The choices range from a variety of exercises, cultural programs to discussions, movies, visits both in and out of the city. We are finding living here most enjoyable and are very happy to have chosen Hazelton Place Retirement Residence. It often feel like we are on a cruise without the ship. Come visit Hazelton Place which is in the centre of the city close to shopping, museums, symphonies, ballet and theatre.

It is with pleasure to make a comment about the Halzelton Place Retirement Residence. As I look forward to becoming a resident at the Hazelton Place I note my appreciation for its obviously established reputation, based on years of improving its multiple services for residents ranging from a secure environment, a skilled staff providing direct caretaking, relevant medical support and many productive activities for the brain, the mood, and daily inspiration for optimal successful living at this stage in our lives. Besides the luxurious environment, the cleanliness was excellent and seeing residences with their pets definitely added a feeling of home to the environment.

This place is amazing. My Mother has been living there for a little over a year and I have to say that she is in very good hands. The staff there are excellent, especially in their handling of the pandemic. They worked very hard and quickly put the necessary measures to ensure our loved ones were safe. They worked long hours and did not abandon their commitments to the residence and their families. Look at what happened to other senior places in Ontario, it was very tragic. Their constant communications on the pandemic and updates on what they were doing gave me peace of mind when I could not be there. My Mom considers the staff there part of our family. We owe the staff at Hazelton Place a big THANK YOU. The things that they have to deal with and do, especially the nurses is truly heroic. [Name removed] and the team there are always approachable and take the time to speak with every resident and visitor when they see them. Their commitment to the care and quality of life for the seniors there is heart warming and appreciated.

My father lived at Hazelton Place for almost 10 years. He had an awesome apartment keeping him in the heart of Toronto. The private dining room is bright and the food was always amazing. The staff treated my dad like family. The were all very respectful to him. As my dad's Alzheimer's got worse, I was able to move him to the second floor where they provide more care. My father always felt comfortable and was always treated with respect from everyone who worked there. I always felt good knowing that my dad was safe and secure. Thank you to all the staff at The Hazelton.

My mother has experienced substandard care at this residence. The management have been terrible in their communication---i.e. inhumane and lacking in basic kindness. During difficult transitions, when extra care was required, they have been cold and patronizing and have always put billing first. There are kind nurses on staff but the overall ethos is PAY MORE IMMEDIATELY. The so-called 'life enrichment' is inadequate. I have seen many residents suffering from a lack of connection and programming. Given the cost of the residence, I would expect more. In general, I have fought for my elders to be treated with the dignity they deserve. I have not found this residence to be a worthy home.

Welcome To Hazelton Place Retirement Residence Out In Toronto, Ontario Canada! My 86 year old mother, [Removed] was considering other Retirement Residences to live in and Hazelton Place Retirement Residence happens to be one of them. I have been in contact with [Removed], Marketing Manager of the complex and back on Tuesday, January 16, 2018, I had an appointment for a tour of the Residence. My tour was Excellent and Very Detail Oriented. [Removed] showed ME all of the necessary parts of the complex that I know my mother would like very much such as their very large dining room, bar area, party room, exercise room, beauty salon, doctors/nurses offices and several of the private apartments. The whole place is Extremely Lovely and if You Can Afford It, then one of the apartments Can Be Yours! They are typically Always Full, however from time to time there are vacancies. Very nice place. Nicely decorated; cheerful. Wonderful location. They were every good at helping my parents do changes to their apartment so it met their needs. I found them helpful in making the arrangements to help with the transition from their house to a retirement community. The staff are all great to my folks.
