We had arguably the best care of any facility during the Helene aftermath.

My first and last contact at Harmony was the director of marketing -[name removed]. As a former health care provider, [name removed]understood my priorities of high quality facilities and high quality healthcare. [name removed]effortlessly provided a list of resources to assist with the physical move within NC but definitely out if town. New healthcare providers were also needed and my mother was able to be plugged into in home health doctor visits which saved on outside visits with the need for transportation. Onsite services were also a big plus. Beyond in home doctor visits I was able to hire WNC Caregivers and had the most wonderful caregivers and overall agency experience. Highly recommend Harmony at Reynolds Mountain.

I would not recommend it unless the parent can live independently and take care of themselves. Do not plan on being able to "age in place" if it becomes necessary for a loved one to move to a higher level of care. I would also suggest that they closely monitor the prescriptions that a loved one is being given to avoid them from being over medicated and overcharged and this also applies to monthly billing to avoid excess charges. We were forced to make other immediate arrangements for her care. Luckily the hospital was understanding and had caring doctors and nurses that helped us. We never sent her back there. This was the last of multiple instances and my mom deserved better. We were paying way too much for the level of services we received. Luckily every senior care facility is not like this. I know they were undergoing management changes at the time but this did not excuse the level of care my mom received.

Too expensive and 0 communication. Impossible to get in the building without unreasonably long wait times...up to 20 minutes. I have made official complaints told I would be sent an email confirmation and never did. I could go on. Good things - close to my house and clean. Only for the wealthy with lots of time and patience to chase people down for answers...and then again when you dont get any.

My view was a big reason for moving to Harmony. My living room and balcony look out at the Asheville mountains. No matter the season, the view brings joy and peace. There are numerous activities. I can choose to participate in those that I enjoy, including book groups, discussions on current events/ideas, knitting, plus, classes or groups for exercise, yoga, meditations, journaling, coffee chats, etc. Harmony's driver takes residents to medical appointments, the grocery store, and other errands, plus, a weekly mystery ride around the county. As I am on the one meal a day plan, I can choose which meal, usually, evening. A la carte is also available. The staff supports us here, whether it's our concierge, house keeping or maintenance. I love the gym!

My parents moved from the Washington DC area and are settled at Harmony. My mother enjoys bridge and my father enjoys the journaling club. They watch movies in the theater and participate in all of the social gatherings. The nurse aids are kind and go above and beyond! It’s a peace of mind for our family to know they are tucked in, happy and being cared for at Harmony.

Harmony advertises all these amenities that they do not provide. Their food is awful, the cleaners are in and out of the apartments in minutes and don’t clean well, or don’t show up at all. It’s expensive and not at all what they advertise it to be. We are very disappointed in this company. They are letting people move in the independent living that obviously need to be in assisted living. They don’t handle what they say they are going to handle. Getting repairs done can take weeks or months. It’s obvious the company is all about making money and cut corners that affect the residents. The best thing is the people that live there …… they are very nice.

My Mom moved into Harmony at Reynolds Mountain January 2020! As I look back, at what was the strangest time for everyone, the lockdown of Covid! My Mom was just getting settled into this “NEW” Independent Living environment meeting new friends, learning her way around the beautiful facility, enjoying Dinner with her new found friends! Then 2 months into it, BAM ??, she was quarantined to her one bedroom apartment! Meals were now delivered to her room, no meeting of friends without a mask, everything changed almost overnight! My Mom being 79 was not a fan of change, as many elderly people are not! I watched as the Staff at Harmony joined together to help bring some routine back into my Mom’s daily life. They social distanced and limited the number of residents in the morning exercise class, Wednesday Wine down, Movie theater, etc…… At such a strange & scary time I had a piece of mind knowing my Mom was being cared for and in the best place for her! Thank you Harmony at Reynold!

From the moment we stepped out of the car we saw residents laughing, smiling and visiting with one another, some out in the warm sunshine and others in an exercise class. My father-in-law was the first to notice. He said, “People look happy here”. We were greeted by [name removed] who was very warm and friendly. The Director of Sales met with us and spent the next 2 hours or more sharing information and showing us apartments and areas of the facility. She wanted to know us, but more importantly she wanted to know my father-in-law. She truly cares about the residents and their happiness and well-being. The facility is beautiful and well maintained. The apartment was extremely nice, spacious and clean. [name removed] continued to support us through the process and was always available by text or phone call. I cannot put into words fully what this has meant to the family during this transition.

I have been impressed with the facility and the staff. They have always kept me up to speed with everything that mom is going through. They have been more than helpful when dealing with her insurance.

I would say that it is a good place overall, but a little bit underwhelming in regard to food, quality and activities. Those two areas do not live up to their advertised reputation. Beyond that, it's clean, quiet, safe, and seems to be a good sense of community among the residence. I would recommend it, But for the price it should offer better meals and more engaging activities. I find it slightly overpriced, approximately 20%.

April 25, 2024Thank you for your review! It is a pleasure to serve you and your family. We appreciate you taking the time to provide your feedback and willingness to share your experience.
Having had my spouse in a different facility before Harmony, it was such a great experience to move there. From the start all employees have been supportive and friendly. They have offered assistance to us at every opportunity. The food looks great. The residents are not confined to their rooms for meals. They are encouraged to get out and walk around and socialize. I would definitely recommend Harmony to others looking for Memory Care.

People are friendly and helpful and welcoming. Mom has no hesitation in getting out to activities. I looked for a good place that was close. Harmony has a lot of activities, which is what I wanted for mom

I moved my Dad in during director of nursing and executive director transitions. There has been a lack of orientation and offering of information unless I specifically track someone down to get questions answered. Some of the staff are spectacular and have helped me a lot but I've had to ask. My expectation was there would be a meeting upon joining the community and I would be part of creating a care plan for my dad which has never happened. I don't know if that's generally just how it is or if it's because of staff changes. I'm still happy with the move overall.

Harmony's activity program is sharply focused on residents' needs and interests. Not only do staff present appealing entertainment and excursions; they encourage and support residents in organizing activities themselves. Residents run Sunday night pizza parties, knitting/crochet groups, bi-monthly book club discussions, monthly poetry reading sessions led by local actors, Sunday Bible studies, Friday Welcome Shabbat services, weekly meditation sessions in a resident-created inter-faith chapel, bi-weekly seminars on important current topics led by resident Ph.Ds and MDs. Being treated like functioning adults helps Harmony residents remain so!

I have been a resident at Harmony for 5 years. I have the experience to be warm, friendly, and accommodating. The activities keep us active and entertained. The staff are pleasant and easy to work with. When searching for a place for my wife and I we felt this was the best we had found.

I toured Harmony at Reynolds Mountain and I was impressed. The difference for us was that another facility that we toured has an administrative arm to a nursing home. However, this facility was great otherwise!

My loved one does not like the food. They need to improve on, the communication, and answering the phones. They need to do better with understanding the patients, and the care that they need. I am not happy with this community. They have limited activites, and it would be nice if the residents, could get outside more. It's a beautiful community, and is in a great setting. They need additional staff.

March 28, 2023We are sorry to hear of your recent concern. We hold ourselves to a high standard and your experience should not be an exception. We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to discuss this further with you. If you would be willing to talk further, please email info@harmonyseniorservices.com.
Overall, the experience with staff has been good but I was sorry to see (Name removed) go. Since then, I have called a couple of times and getting a hold of someone can be a little bit problematic. Although my loved one is in Independent Living, you guys have worked to make her surgery experience easier by bringing her food to her room. Other than that she does not receive care from you. The meals I have had there were definitely not memorable and my loved one was unsatisfied at the beginning. She seems to have changed her mind on that and is happy with the meals. I can't rate the activities, but it seems like they are a little less frequent than I understood them to be. My only experience with the outside activity stuff was that a singer came and sang to the group. I was under the impression that there would be more going on but to be honest, I'm not fully aware of the activity schedule. I know your price point is in line with other facilities, but it is a fairly expensive endeavor, and I would like to see some improvement on the items noted above given the cost of the experience.
