We are constantly taking her food. She doesn't eat breakfast or lunch with the others. I have heard some good things about dinner though. There are a lot of activities constantly going on and they are clearly posted in the elevators. When it comes to the value for cost I have nothing to compare it to. It is expensive, but it is[name removed] money that she had hoarded over the years so it is going to her. I'd move there in a minute! Laundry gets done, apartment cleaned, meals prepared....what's not to love about that? Plus we know [name removed] is safe and taken care of. You can use any of those words. [name removed] and [name removed] have been especially helpful!!

Overall a nice community

The food/meals need a lot of work. Food is cold; always out of certain things; takes a long time to get food; not enough help and $15 is a lot to have a meal brought to your apartment. Having your meals are a big deal because most people are there because they don't cook. Also to clarify the value for cost, I'm know there are many reasons families have to make decisions to put their loved ones in communities like this. I just feel one of the reasons is to have prepared meals. It's something I feel the residents look forward too. I know my mom does. Harmony is aware of the food problems and hope it can be fixed soon.

would be more on the Nice community and friendly staff.

The common areas are very clean. The hard floors in my Dad's apartment are a bit tacky - not sure if it's the cleaning fluid residue used to cleaning the floors. They do vacuum the carpets, but don't steam clean them seasonally. Not sure if that is an expectation but will be asking. I brought my own cleaner over to clean the carpets and steam the hard floors. He is very happy at Harmony and happy that he is close to where I live

My ratings are because one has to keep after them to do what is expected/offered and charged. We chose Harmony at Falls Run initially because we liked the apartments and they said that they check on the residents about every 2 hours.

Terrible Experience, not worth your time or money

If I could give them a negative number, I absolutely would. I would never recommend this to anyone in fact, I would tell everyone to run the opposite direction. My parents did not have air-conditioning for three months this past summer, and they only brought them one standalone air conditioner for the first two months. And that was in a two bedroom apartment so they had to sleep in their recliners in the living room. The third month they brought them a second unit for in their bedroom, but they could not use the majority of their apartment for that entire three month and they never gave us any kind of compensation for that. Same thing with the dining, so many people have complained about how they can't even eat the food because it's not edible. In fact, it's not even safe because they are constantly getting cold food that should be hot and hot food that should be cold that they can't even chew because it's so dry and people, my parents included, have gotten food poisoning, and the Noro virus from their food, and some people have even had to go to the hospital for days because of it. And they will not adjust the price regardless of how terrible their food is they will not give us a credit off of our rent even though meal a day is built into their rent, and the food is mostly not edible. We've also had problems with The cleaner coming in for less than 15 minutes, and not cleaning large portions of the apartment (which has happened on a regular basis) and even though we've complained and many other people have complained, they have not given anybody any credits of their rent for not getting the cleaning that was promised us. Also, they talk about transportation to and from doctors appointments, however, there's only one person who drives people to doctors appointment for the entire building and he is also the person who drives people to outside events so the majority of the time I have to take my parents to their appointment or they have to pay for transportation, and they are not the only ones who do that it happens every day and despite the complaints, nobody is getting any compensation for that either. Also...They promised that they provide 24/7 emergency service, but they don't. There have been several times where my parents have pulled the string for the emergencies system, and three different times the string broke, and nobody came. my mom had to call down to the front desk to get help but nobody answered it just kept ringing and then it went into a voicemail so she had to call 911 by herself. There was one time that she did get in touch with someone downstairs but they sent the nurse and the nurse said she couldn't help him and she would have to call 911 and that was 20 minutes after my mom got in touch with someone downstairs and said that my dad had fallen on the floor so for 20 minutes they knew he was on the floor and nobody called 911 or came to see how he was doing or said you have to call 911 yourself. And they offer a life alert type pendant that you can pay for on a monthly basis through them which is supposed to go straight to the nurses but it actually rings at the front desk and there's not someone at the front desk all the time. During the day when they take breaks, they just leave a sign up that says they're on break and when they'll return and after 10 o'clock nobody's there. And even though they're not really providing that service that they said that they were going to provide, we still have not gotten any compensation for that either. The front desk is not always staffed during the day, not only because they are taking a break, but also because they have the receptionist/concierge, waiting tables in the dining room, because they can't keep employees. There have been times that the activities director has been waiting tables and the cleaning manager has been waiting tables in the evening after she worked all day cleaning apartments. They've also had many people leave from the kitchen, not just waiters, because they have gotten frustrated and left to go find a better job. And unfortunately, some of the most people were actually the better people in the kitchen and on the wait staff. Additionally, they are on their fourth Center Director since December 2022 when they moved in, but they also had three intermittent directors from other locations and a regional operations manager come in to help out when all three of those directors just quit on the spot and walked out. I've called the county both the health department and also the people who inspect the building and they said that there's very little they can do to help and we are shopping around for attorneys right now to see if we can get some kind of refund of the money that they've spent, while we are out looking for another place for them. Unfortunately, there were other problems that I didn't even bring up to you, smaller problems, but they all add up to. This is a terrible company and a terrible facility, with so very few things going right. And I did give them a higher rating for friendliness because people will smile and be nice to your face but nobody's fixing any of the problems.

Awesome staff working to do a great job!

My mother-in-law entered assisted living in February. She is very difficlult, but the staff is nice and patient. They work well with the primary care givers (my husband and I) while creating a safe, positive community for the residents. So glad we found this facility!!!

NOT a place for Mom!

My mom has been there since 2019 and it has been declining since then. No consistency in the director role for several years and therefore poor leadership for staff. My mom has been sent to the hospital 2 times and the last time the EMT’s warned me about what they see there. Pathetic. If I could move her without doing harm to her I would in a minute! Skip it!

Our Experience

Overall a good experience. Be sure and ask about move in incentives. We got first month free rent and waived community fee. This saved my loved one more than $4000 first month. Staff are friendly, courteous. Facility is very clean, updated and appeals to retired professional seniors (lots of teachers, nurses, govt workers). Good variety of activities on independent and ALF side M-F, not much weekend activity at all. Staffing has improved in the last year, but still short AL side. Recommendations: -Check in on your loved one several times a week at different times day/ night at beginning- get idea of how they are adjusting. - see how often they are being checked on ( maybe they need more or less) - meet the staff - join them for lunch to try out the food/service. -stay involved in their care, ask lots of questions (appetite, sleeping, engagement). Don't be afraid to ask questions, speak up. Staff ultimately appreciate your presence and acknowledgment when they are doing a good job caring for your loved one.

We decided to choose them based on all the promises they gave. The facility looks to be running down. Carpet and walls and interior old. They promised to update my mother room with new carpet and paint. Along with bring the room up to handicap accessibility. But have not in over 10 months. They knew mom mom was in a wheel chair and needed 2 people to help out of her chair and into her chair or shower. And we paid extra. We even hired a extra care person to come in 3 days a week to clean and do laundry and help her. Even though that is part of the care. They continue to have staff issues and food issues. The health dept has been involved. If we can find a new place we would at this point.

Tour experience

Our tour experience with Harmony at Falls Run was great. The Facility was nice, clean, and everyone was friendly. I lived in the area, but it was actually up to my cousins niece who has power of attorney, who did the final selection. I believe she chose [facility name removed] because at the time they had an opening in the assisted living for a one bedroom apartment. Harmony didn't have openings or only had a studio available.

Satisfactory but needs improvements

The continuity of the Executive Director position changed 4 times during my tenure here of a little over 15 months. I've had a disagreement with accounting since [date removed] and it has yet to be addressed by anyone. The staffing level of the maid service has been so low that overall cleanliness has suffered. The chief maid is overworked and under staffed, Food varieties on the menu are good. Dining staff has suffered shortages which impacts total experience. Activities get a 5+++. Outstanding staff and leadership. All the residents are super and the majority of the staff are great. The daily concierge is outstanding!

A Comfortable Fit for my Mom

Harmony at Falls Run has been a good fit for my mom, so far. The facility is modern, well kept, and inviting. Staff are kind and compassionate, though I believe there could be more of them. The food is restaurant style served and my mother raves about it often. Weekly housekeeping and laundry are so helpful for your loved one and their family. We did have a few important challenges at the start with staff communication and medications being ordered as prescribed. I strongly suggest family remain involved and present whenever possible to oversee their loved ones care. It doesn't go unnoticed and ultimately ensures the best care for your loved one.

A mixed bag

My mother has lived at Harmony for 3 years. 2 1/2 years were fine and she was happy in her independent living apartment. Last October she fell and ended up on the floor for 2 days before her neighbors’ request for a wellness check were granted and she was found. She was hospitalized and then spent about a month in a rehab facility getting strength back. We then tried to get her moved to an assisted living apartment and that is when the experience went south. It took almost a week to get any response from Harmony, problems getting the contact printed, being charged for the new apartment even though it was still occupied, no follow thru from the business manage or new director in fixing the billing. Too bad administrative staff drops the ball because other staff do a pretty nice job. A lot of staff turnover which is concerning. Consider carefully before placing family members here.

Tour experience

We showed up for our tour and the outside needed a lot of work. We walked inside and it was not much better, it just looked dirty and outdated. We had toured another facility before Harmony and there was just no comparison.

I have had limited experience with the community since I live out of state - however from what we have heard it seems to be a home run. It has been a good experience so far, our loved one seems happy with the new friends she is making, participating in the activities as well as enjoying the meals.
