A great place as long as it lasted

She had just renovated the place when we moved in, but she just put the house on the market and is selling it. She has other houses in the area though that she manages. The quality of care was great and it was overall just a wonderful place. We had a short stay at Grapperhall, but we were well satisfied.... Read more

Making His Last Days Happy

I would recommend it. I didn't see anything that was bad about it. This was no reflection on them, but Covid was going on, and you had to make an appointment to visit. They were just following the rules required of them, and they were good about making sure that only one family was there at a time. My loved one was very happy. He said they were really good to him, and he loved being there. They were always cooking a good meal, and I could smell that when we came to visit. We would sit with him when he was eating, and the food looked very good. It was a homecooked meal, not fast food or microwaved. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I felt like the cost was comparable to other places, and we got what we paid for. They certainly treated him well while he was there.

Personalized Care

It's definitely a small, personal, quaint community with personalized care. I feel like my loved one is well taken care of there. It's spotless and she's spotless every time I go in there.

Not the Right Place for Us

I took a look at Grapperhall Family Care Home, and I did like that the community was small and that it was run by a nurse. However, while the nurse and staff were pleasant enough, they did not seem as warm and comforting as I was hoping. I also was not comfortable with the male to female ratio between the residents there. Overall, it just wasn't the right fit for my loved one.

Great alternative to the regular assisted living facilities. Not an institution, but a home. You get to know the staff, families and the residents well. The residents have the same caregivers all the time and they really know and care about them.

Great family environment. The care givers really love their job and care about the patients. This is just like living at home but with full time care!
