Having been in and out of Skilled Nursing Facilities as an EMS provider for 33 years, the smell is better than all others. Though my first time as a patient I appreciated how whatever I needed was provided or they were able to figure out a way to provide it, that they were open to my input as a patient and when a problem arose it was communication that solved it. They provided excellent Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy while I was there, I was able to get 2 sessions (1 each)PT/OT)a day and saw measurable success. The community/atmosphere was healthy and I met people I plan on continuing relationships with. The food was very good to acceptable and the staff go out of their way to provide comfort and seem to genuinely enjoy us patients and even their jobs for the most part.... Read more

My grandma was in there for 5 days and was begging to get out after day one. When she would press her button for help no one would answer. After waiting for 45 minutes she had to walk to the nurses station to find the nurse sound asleep with 4 lights on the board with other people who need help. Her light however was not even lit up at the desk because her bulb was out. They kept bringing her food that was not very good. She asked if she could pick her own food and they told her she gets a menu every morning but actually didn’t receive one until she complained. After she received a menu she said the food wasn’t that bad. She said they never cleaned the bathroom until she started getting upset. The garbages were overflowing and she had to use her foot to push it down. They refused to listen to her on what medicine helps with her blood pressure. It started at 140 she told them what medicine would help but gave her something else instead. It didn’t work. They checked it again hours later and it was up to 150. Still they didn’t listen to her and gave her the same medicine that didn’t work before. Hours later it was up to 160. Still they didn’t listen and gave her the same medicine that didn’t work. Hours later they checked again (2 days later now) it was at 170. She thought she was going to have a stroke in the rehab place that was supposed to help her get better not worse. Finally they gave her the medicine she asked for days ago but only gave her a low dose and it FINALLY started to go down. The therapist however that worked with her was great and helpful. Overall this was a horrible experience and she left the place happy to go home but sad for all the people who are still there not receiving the care they deserve.

I really like the place and the people. They really tried to help us even though they had no openings at the time. They went over someplaces closer to home.

A Place for Mom has scored Genesis - Everett Center 7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
