Their staff is very nice, but I would rate their communications around a 3 or 4. Some times you get good information but sometimes you do not get timely or accurate information. So you may to call back. I would recommend this facility to others looking.

July 15, 2024Thanks for your feedback and your recommendation. I am the Executive Director and, as I want every resident and family to have a 5-star experience in all aspects of life at Gateway Villas and Gardens, encourage you to contact me personally if you ever have any questions or concerns.
My loved one was previously a resident at Gateway Villas and Gateway Gardens and it was not a good experience for us. My loved one was not being helped/changed out of his disposable underwear often enough and was becoming quite chapped. Myself and Hospice both asked Gateway to have someone check him at least every 2-3 hours, but they said that they didn't have the (enough) staff to do that. Although it was a lovely facility, decorated beautifully and very clean, I feel like my loved one rapidly went down hill there. I moved him to a different facility.

I have to say everyone here is very kind and considerate and thoughtful but mostly awesome. My favorite thing to say is even when I’m not feeling my best the staff isn’t condescending and is extremely respectful and loving. The activities are so much. Sometimes I wish the food was a little softer in the meat department and there was more of a variety

Love it here. The staff is great especially [name removed] and [name removed].. Community is great the staff always has a great smile and eve though there mat be short staff at times the staff working always has a smile and makes me feel important. Caring and kind.. I don't feel less than because i need help I know I can depend and not treat me any different despite my age or my disability.

From my first day here I’ve felt safe and well cared for. The aids are friendly and helpful. They come quickly when we call for help 24 hours day. Care is is pacific to each individual. Very polite staff, always smiling. Cleanliness is amazing always makes my room smell so fresh and so clean. Shower aide is amazing with showers very helpful.

There are some incredibly caring people taking care of our Mom. She requires a lot of one on one attention and the staff is loving and patient with her. I would recommend Gateway Gardens to others looking.

February 6, 2024Thanks for your recommendation! We appreciate your kind words for our team and the loving and patient care they have provided your mom.
My dad was somewhat incontinent when he arrived...mostly urine. There were not enough staff to check on him regularly, the hospice nurse suggested that someone check on him once every 2 hours to make sure he was dry and or change him. They said they didn't have the staff to do that. I was going up there 4 hours in the morning from 7:30-11:30, then coming back up at 5:30-8:30 in the evening. I was bringing his wash home every day and except on Thursdays that was the day they washed. But he always had so much wash because he wasn't being changed often enough. The skin started chafing and it took several different creams to find one that worked. It became uncomfortable for him to sit. This is when we knew we needed to move him. He was at Gateway from [date removed] to [date removed]. The food was always hard for people to cut and chew...they need softer food, often it was individual chicken breast that was dry, they couldn't cut it, they couldn't chew it. Often was left on the plate, frustrating for them very wasteful.

The care services. value for cost and staff are good. The activities are okay. I would recommend Gateway Villas and Gateway Gardens to others, but be prepared to hear lots of complaints about the food.

My loved one lives at Gateway Gardens and everything is great for her at this facility! The facility/staff is wonderful! The housekeeping is excellent. The communication with the family is great. The meals are very good quality. I would definitely recommend Gateway Gardens to family and friends.

We took a tour of Gateway Villas and Gateway Gardens during our search for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. We toured four other facilities, also. Out of our four tours, this facility was okay. Ultimately, we decided to continue on with our search and decided on a different facility.

Find another place. They are short staffed so that's probably causing the majority of the problems. They don't check on my loved one twice a day like they are supposed to. They go days without emptying her trash. The manager is not following up with me on getting her long term information to the insurance company. The way they do the meals is crazy although that is improving.

I apologize for the delay in getting you the information you needed for insurance purposes and appreciate your patience as we work to get that to you as soon as possible. We are also taking this feedback as an opportunity to ensure we are checking in on our residents as promised and that our housekeeping team is checking trash bins regularly. Things have been good at this facility overall. They're undergoing a change in Management and some staff changes, so that's kind of been a hassle. But things are already improving. The staff are all very nice. They're working on improvement of meals and dining, also. The food has been cold a lot of times recently. There also hasn't been a good variety, especially with breakfast. Communication with the family is pretty good, I usually get at least a text. Housekeeping and Laundry service is once a week and they do a good job with those. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.
