Excellent, compassionate care

The model of the memory care hou1se is based on knowing each resident as a person first and foremost, and meeting them wherever they are on their memory care journey. My grandfather was a resident at Friendly Horizons in his last years of life. He lived a life of respect and dignity, and they found ways to connect with my grandpa even on the days when words didn't work. They held "meetings" so that my grandfather could relive his career days, brought in a therapy dog so that he could connect with the dog he thought he lost, and played music that he knew deep in his soul, allowing him to connect to things that were familiar to him. The staff was very involved, communicated well, and made sure that each resident had a clean, safe place to live. They had fun activities to keep residents engaged. I can't say enough good about the care my grandfather received.... Read more

A Place for Mom has scored Friendly Horizons 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
