When we moved our loved one in, we were told they could handle bathroom needs. Their response time is 30 minutes which is unacceptable. Furthermore, she had a medical condition that wasn't addressed with the doctor for 3 days. They didn't wash the clothes every week as promised. They didn't clean the toilet which very much needed it. Franklin Park may be fine for someone that is able to get up and assist themselves but definitely not for someone that needs help.

The peace of mind knowing my mom is safe and loved there is invaluable. They are eternally patient with her.

Some staff are excellent, others just don't care or aren't trained at all. Always short on caregivers. Caregivers seem to be on their phones quite a bit. They would rather dope them up to make their job easier. Activities do not stimulate. They hardly talk to the residents. Breakfast is basically the same everyday. Meals do not match ability to eat. I would not eat there. Rooms are not always locked or closed. Residents wander on their own. Management is MIA on the floor. No accountability for workers.

I would tell others looking that they actually take time to get to know your loved one, their needs and likes. They are respectful to them no matter how difficult they become. They seem slightly understaffed, but management said they are working on that.

Overall we've had a great experience. Occasionally we've had some experiences with temporary employees that weren't so great. But it's a lovely place with lovely people.

We chose Franklin Park Boerne because of the convenient location to us. The room sizes in memory care are pretty good and I would say adequate for the needs. It all boils down to the the staff members, everyone from the concierge at the front desk to the nursing staff and etc. They have all been excellent to work with. I would highly recommend the facility to other families looking.

The regular staff that are there all the time are great. I would recommend this community for you or your loved one. They have activities like yoga, church services, karaoke, art activities and more for the residents to do to have fun. They also have dancing, music, social interactions and more for the residents to do to stay busy in this community.

They are great here. Franklin Park is in transition due to a staff turnover. They picked new staff members, and they will be great soon. Some of the activities available include billiards, prayer groups, beachball volleyball, bingo, movie nights, happy hours and more for the residents to choose from.

Response from Franklin Park Boerne
October 28, 2021Thank you for taking the time to submit your review about our community. We strive for excellence, and therefore appreciate your feedback.
The biggest problem is like everybody else, in the sense they have turnover of staff. It would be nice to have the staff encourage the residents to participate in the activities, and have more of them available.

This was a nice community, and it was too spread out for my loved one.
Response from Franklin Park Boerne
September 8, 2021Hello there, First, I want to thank you for considering our community for your loved one. We know how important this decision is. And secondly, I appreciate your feedback. I am glad you found the perfect fit for all! We wish you the best!
The facilities are beautiful and typically kept clean. Assisted Living is still nice but memory care is not. They are consistently short staffed and hire unqualified staff. They food is now poor and many residents have lost a lot of weight. Residents just sit in the dining room or their individual rooms most of the day. Poor management and lack of staff has made a nice facility decline.

If you have someone who doesn't need any memory care, it is a great place. If it is for memory care it is good. If it is in the middle of the road, it is not good at all. It would be nice to have an enclosed outdoor area for the residents to go to freely. This is one of the main reasons we moved my loved one out of the community.

Franklin Park sends out calendar events on what activities they have each week, and what the residents are participating in. Each day they have something going on in the mornings and the afternoons, they paint during the week, have balloon toss and basketball games. Before COVID they would even take the residents on small drive. This facility is very clean, and everyone from the staff to the residents is very friendly and happy there. The rooms are set up really well, and are very roomy. Our loved one can look out of her room and see their court yard.

A Place for Mom has scored Franklin Park Boerne 7.3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
