My wife has been in Memory Care Unit for over three and a half years. From day one she has been cared for by a very caring and professional staff. The facility is kept very clean and the meals provided are both balanced and favorable. Prior to the pandemic many activities and field trips were provided to the residents who chose to attend. In the past few months, all of these events have returned for the residents to enjoy. At Forest Ridge, the resident comes first and foremost. A top-notched leadership team and a caring and dedicated staff provide excellent care for the residents. These are very difficult jobs, and it takes special people to fulfill these tasks.... I still see an issue with being understaffed. I guess it's still considered the best choice in this area.

Forest Ridge seemed like a great place and we really liked it, we are actually still in touch with them in case things continue to decline where my loved one is at. The only turn off for us was when we went to visit the memory care side, we got a strong smell of urine. At the time we were looking, the location was further away than we would have liked.
Read MoreWe chose Forest Ridge because it came recommended to us. I called several places and when I called this facility, they said they had nurses on staff and would be able to deal with any of his medical needs instead of just sending him to the hospital. They also said eventually when he needed hospice, they would come to him and he would not have to move. Every staff member from the time they came to my home to evaluate him to the hospice nurses were wonderful. They were always so supportive and I always had a shoulder to cry on if needed. They were always so helpful with anything that we needed, especially with financial questions about the VA. I have only good things to say about them and I would highly recommend them to others who are looking.

I would suggest you check other places out. The nursing care isn't the best. The community is on the expensive side. There are activities going on at different times for the residents. There are physical activates such as exercises and we have an activities director on site.

The staff is very helpful, caring, and nice. The communication of the staff is amazing, I receive an email or call if there are any changes. They have taken care of my loved one and it has been a very good place. My loved one said it's bright and a happy place. She likes the food in this community also. I would definitely recommend this community to others.

This community has gone beyond our expectations in their care for our mother. I have not seen my mother so content in many years. She is taking part in the activities and on the field trips she has helped the needy kids pick-out school supplies, she helped a friend find a watch. The community is beautiful, clean and welcoming.

I just think Forest Ridge did a really good job on helping my loved one adjust to the atmosphere. It is a difficult time for anyone, but my loved one ended up liking it at Forest Ridge. It was a good experience.

Things went well when we put her in for assisted living, but the only thing we've come up against, which nobody told us is we had already had her signed up and everything, my brother in law is power of attorney over her finances, and they told us there was a $3000 non refundable community fee, she was adding it non chalantly like everybody knew about it and they just looked at each other and said they thought the other person told us about it. Everything else has been pretty good, my brother in law says they get your money and then they don't care about nothing and they don't give us attention like when we first went. I know she's satisfied there, she says she likes it and more people come to see her there, she used to say negative things to my husband and she doesnt say things like that now.

A Place for Mom has scored Forest Ridge 3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
