All categories for Forest Haven I give a 5. Reason is simple. Each person from the owner [name removed] on down is professional, warm, helpful and likes what they do. They have the best interests of all patients and their families. From day 1 my mom & I have never second guessed our decision to our dad in Forest Haven. They have become and we as well part of their family. Dad passed away on [name removed], he had Parkinson's with dementia, and it progressed fast since May. That is when he was put on hospice and that was at the recommendation of those at Forest Haven. They, everyone at Forest Haven, were amazing during that time. Not only did they look after dad but the constantly looked after mom and I as well. And the day dad died they made sure we were taken care of. They still call and check on us. I tell everyone when Forest Haven tells people they are like a family they truly mean it. Mom & I miss each resident and those that work there. Forest Haven is just a very special place.... Read more

To make this easy. All categories I'm giving a 5(best). Everyone who works there is professional, helpful, respectful and beyond nice. No matter when my mom or myself go there (at different) times the place is spotless, residents are happy as is staff. They welcome the families to visit at anytime even during meal times. They go above and beyond with the care as they treat each resident as their parent or grandparent. I have never had a doubt about Forest Haven.

The staff was very friendly to family and to the residents. All of them would talk to me about my mom's day and what she was doing. I never felt unwelcome there. Family was always able walk into the facility, stop at front desk to check in and they knew where my mom was right away. The facility smelled clean and looked clean. There was never an overwhelming smell of wall plug in air fresheners trying to cover up odors. Windows would be open for fresh air, residents could go on the patio when they wanted. Forest Haven allowed residents to sit outside in the front when they wanted, not when the whole herd had to go out. Truly a feeling of a home. It seemed like there was always a housekeeping staff member cleaning around the common areas and cleaning resident's rooms. The meals were appetizing. They also have a kitchen with healthy snacks, when wanted. My mom was not able to participate in the activities, but they always did have her in the area where activities were taking place. The staff was very observant. Shortly after my mom was moved to Forest Haven, I was approached by nursing staff and was told they felt she needed to be put on hospice. This was never mentioned by the other place she was at...all I ever heard was how she was fine. I would highly recommend Forest Haven for a comfortable, positive home for a loved one. They were wonderful people!

I had toured a lot of different places when I finally found Forest Haven and I am so happy that I did. The staff here is so friendly, knowledgeable about what they’re doing, and always willing to answer any questions that I have. Anytime something happens with my aunt, they relay that feedback to me quickly. There was even a time when she needed to go to the doctor, but I was busy, so the director took her to her appointment. You don’t get that kind of service these days, let alone someone so willing to help when they don’t have to. The housekeeper cleans regularly, does the laundry about once a week, and takes out the trash frequently. It’s always so nice and clean which gives me peace of mind as well. There’s a girl that comes once a week to do art activities with the residents and she’s wonderful. There’s aerobic activities and cards to keep everyone busy as well. The other residents are pretty friendly; my aunt can sometimes be difficult to get along with but she’s making friends. The only thing that I don’t understand is that they seem to have a lot of sandwiches and chips for their lunches and dinners. However, my aunt isn’t losing any weight and seems to be getting enough food so it doesn’t bother me much. The payment is sort of high, but this facility is valuable and offers so much for what you pay. Overall, the staff is just great and the facility is wonderful – everything is small but just big enough that there’s room for walking around. I would absolutely recommend Forest Haven!

A Place for Mom has scored Forest Haven 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
