I have a 1 bedroom with a walk in tub. The apartment is spacious & it has a kitchenette with a microwave. The meals are pretty good & I have a housekeeper that comes every other week. The walk in tub is clogged & even though they tried to fix it, it's still clogged. I need lamps here cause the only lights they have are in the hall, bathroom & walk in closet. I pay to do my laundry here. Some of the staff are nice. Most of the residents are nice as well. I can hear when someone does their laundry. I can hear people talk in the hallway or close their doors. There are 3 elevators & I can hear their dings cause my apartment is by them.

The 1 bedroom apartments are spacious. It's clean, but if you are a picky eater you might find yourself having to make meals on your own. Portion sizes are also small at meal times. The administration is nice, caring and willing to work with you. They could offer more food options. The security guards and the dining room staff at the door could be a little more friendly. They forget that they are working with aging seniors that may not be healthy or slow to learn a new way of doing things.

These are the main problems with this facility: One elevator is constantly broken. The breakfast food is a very limited selection. Addressing issues like a clogged toilet on off hours or weekends is extremely problematic. The cleanliness and friendliness are good. The staff and care services are also good.

All the Staff and admin have been wonderful. I was concerned about my mothers adjustment after having only lived in her house for 50 years. But she is comfortable and busy all the time with all the daily activities. After all my research, and going to other senior living locations, Flushing House was the best thing I could hope for.

It's very nice. The staff is excellent. Very friendly very many non-english speaking Chinese...So conversation at meals can be impossible.. For the last month or two only one of the three elevators has been inconsistent working order. It's a 12-story building and the lines for the elevator can be very long. In a residence of 300 people this is also a potential safety hazard and the residents are beginning to take this very seriously. For this reason I can only give flashing house a rating of three. Overall it is a good price and it is a decent place.
What our family likes the most about the Flushing House is the friendliness of the staff members working there as well as the watchful eye they have over the residents. The Flushing House community is also really clean.

They did some really nice activities around Christmas time and New Years Eve which we were really surprised by. They recently through this Gala party where our love done dressed up in a suit so that was really nice. They also do little day trips. When it comes to the breakfast we do think there could be a little bit more of a variety. The house keeping could also be a little bit better

This facility is great! The staff is very friendly and they do everything they can to help the residents. They offer a wide variety of activities such as yoga, bingo, music, live jazz band. They also have transportation and take residents to restaurants and to the store. The food is good. The front desk is always very helpful. They do housekeeping once a week and do a great job. I have recommended this facility to others and will continue to do so!

We toured with Flushing House and it was a very busy facility. The deal breaker for my loved ones was the fact that the apartments did not have washers and dryers inside of the units. They would have had to go to a shared community room with coin- operated washers and dryers and they did not want to do that.
We are really enjoying the staff, they are all there for you whenever you have questions, concerns or any issues. We were in a big rush and they were able to help our family out in every way possible. There are two different apartment options to choose from, and the apartment our loved one has is just the right amount of space

My friend was in desperate need of senior housing of exactly what is offered at Flushing House. A nice clean space with some support services and convivences as he just retired. He needed a place with friendly people to interact with and our prayers were answered.

[name removed] is the best and has made it easy to work with the community. It would be nice for some of the staff to be quicker to respond to my questions about my loved one and the billing. I would recommend the community to others.

The quality of the facility and the cost is very reasonable. Food is excellent, they offer a variety of food! They have church services, have a sports room, crafting room, as well as a theater room. Absolutely would recommend this to a family or friend. Great medical staff!

A Place for Mom has scored Flushing House 9.1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
