Maplewood is fabulous. My in-laws were getting up in years and just not safe to be in that huge house. We took the tour and was hooked. They treat you like family from the first moment and take as good as if not better care of the residents than I could ever. We started in independent and now in Assisted Living. Both are terrific. Housekeeping, the dining staff, PT Girls, aides, office staff, and everyone I have forgotten to mention...go above and beyond for each resident. The residents are like family too...if anyone is missing for whatever someone is checking up on them. And lets not forget the activities. Bingo is a major event and we have had to wait to take my in-laws out till singing, bingo or whatever was over. The apartments are beautiful, plenty of parking, easy access to everything he uses a scooter and he can easily get everywhere. Also, cookies and coffee are everywhere. They love it there and I am so thankful we found Elison of Maplewood in Bridgeport, WV.... Read more

JUST CITED 14 TIMES BY the STATE for many issues! My Grandmother is currently there and we are moving her out this month. This company is all about making money … most companies are NOT at the expense of the RESIDENTS! Beware there are better options for [removed] thousand a month. Broken elevators no actives on the assisted living side. Horrible low quality meals and when they run out of food they will make a soup from all the leftovers. My grandmothers room has went weeks without getting cleaned and trash taken out. They have only changed her bedding twice in seven months. Supposed to be done after every shower. They can’t even keep staff so they condensed at the positions and required staff do 3 jobs. It’s horrible…. Don’t even waste your time! Everyone that may have had a good memory of this place… Sagora who operates out of state took over. I feel bad for the staff and residents.

Looks great on the outside appearance....but very rude care givers. We ended up calling adult protective service to have them investigated. Many people fired. Not a nice place for [fee removed] a month

DO NOT RISK your family member…Poor communication is the norm, dangerously so! Our mother moved in & we noted communication issues the 1st day. She was given food on the allergy list we provided at several meals. Thankfully we had a camera in her room so could circumvent some issues. We’d call in with appointments or shuttle requests, no one relayed to other staff. My mother was to have surgery, needed to fast, sign on her door said fasting, called at 5 a.m. with reminder, she was still woken up to go to breakfast. The elevators broke down several days & mom was on 2nd floor. Our worst experience was a female called saying our mother left her room at night, went into another building so could not remain there without a family member staying every evening from 10pm-6am, due to low staffing in evenings. I explained we’d told them on the tour my mom has sundowners & she turns on her TV in the evenings until she goes back to bed. We had also let staff know she was really struggling with he

March 8, 2023Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. At Elison Independent & Assisted Living of Maplewood, our resident’s safety and well-being is our top priority. Eveything has been great. They have been really helpful, and we have never had a problem. They have done everything that we have needed. My loved one is eating well and doing really well. The activites is great, and my loved one has partcipated in a few, and enjoyed them. It's always something to do. We needed a place to keep our loved one safe, and they are def serving them very well. My other family members, were impressed with the facility, and cleanliness. The staff is amazing, very caring, and attentive to the residents. I would highly recommend.

The room is normally pretty clean. We picked this community because of the convience, it was close to my home and they had an opening when I needed to place my loved one. The communication is pretty good. Overall, it's above average.

I would highly recommend Elison of Maplewood to others for their loved ones. They have continuous care for my loved one, they meals are wonderful, and there are lots of activities for the residents to partake in and these are all things that stand out to me. The only concern is that you don't have one point of contact to speak to about my loved one. It would be nice that the one person knew all of my loved one's history. Some of the activities are bible reading, puzzles, crafts, walking, exercise, field trips, bingo, and more for the residents to choose from. They also have transportation for the residents to use.

I think our nutritionist, [name removed], has done a very good job of running Maplewood against great odds. Coronavirus, building problems., and cranky old people. Our meals could be better!

I moved my friend here after a bad experience at another community. I'm thrilled we found this place and it was closer to my home. But she loves it here the caregivers are great and friendly. They keep it clean and the outside is kept up nicely too. The food is amazing and they have a therapy room. I'm really happy here.
