I'd say it's great pretty much on all grounds, but has gotten very expensive, and rates continue to go up every chance and increases are larger each time. I've had to be there frequently to advocate for my loved one and make sure things are right. They've been very cooperative; for example: they moved him to a room that's closer to the dining and activities room, as he was having difficulties traveling as far as he had to. They've been very helpful. There are always going to be a few glitches, but they have been most happy to make things right that aren't right and I've been very pleased with that.

We had a very good tour at Discovery Commons Cypress Point. I felt they had a lot to offer. It was a wonderful facility - very clean and well organized. The staff were very helpful in educating us about things we didn't even know to think about. Really our decision came down to a move-in incentive at another community that we just couldn't beat.
We had a great tour at Discovery Commons Cypress Point. We found it to be a very pleasant community. The place that we chose was just closer to where we live, and we liked the facility a little better.
We had an excellent first impression, the décor in the lobby and dining hall is very nice and everything is clean. The staff are very friendly, they were very welcoming and our father felt right away home immediately. The only reason we did not give it a 5 was the meals, sometimes the meals are served cold.

We thought Discovery Commons at Cypress Point was very nice. It was a hard decision - they were right on par with another community that we liked. We ended up going with the other community because the setting/location spoke to us more.
In this industry there is a shortage and that is affecting every community. Staffing is for sure an issue right now. The staff that are there currently are really dedicated to the resident but they are being worn down. One of the most important things is how close you are to the community. The tour to get into here was amazing and very informative.

Good community, just not the right fit.
I thought Cypress Point was lovely. It was clean, and the staff seemed very responsive. The gal who gave the tour was amazing. They just didn’t have the right room set-up for my parents with very specific special needs.
The facility and services at Cypress Point are excellent. The nurses and custodial caregivers were patient and friendly with my father. Management of care was on a few occasions "lip service".

When we visited Cypress Point, we found it inviting, modern & clean. We were assisted immediately by a professional & friendly staff. They helped us find the perfect fit for our loved one. The size of the facility is not too large so that you are more of a number than an individual, but not too small to provide the quality of service & attention necessary. It's a perfect size facility with excellent dining facilities, a diverse menu with several activities & amenities. Cypress Point is a perfect fit for your loved one.

We chose Cypress Point because when I looked into it they were having a special that we got. The sales people were very helpful with trying to get us in here. The meals are good and she enjoy them, they are always hot when received. My mom does not use activities but I see other people playing bingo, going to movies, etc so I know they do have them. She complains they don't listen to her but whenever I have had a problem they help right away. I think she is receiving much better care than where she was at before. I would highly recommend them.

The personal care our loved one has received like nail cutting and hair trimming has really been lacking. Also when we would ask the care takers or other staff members about the cuts our loved one received, the communication was really unclear and lacking. Due to covid, there have been no activities.

Room sizes were generous. They often had things on the menu that they did not have in stock. The staff tried to be friendly. They were not forth coming with information if their was any questions or issues brought to their attention. They sold themselves on the grounds that they provided a high level of care and for the most part they did that. They did care. The owners were visible in the community.

Very clean and friendly environment. The food is prepared by chefs and all the residents enjoy the food, including my wife. I had the food and many times it rivals restaurant food. The variety is great and there is an always available menu with food available 7:00 am until 7:00 pm. The staff is very attentive and does a great job of attending to resident needs. The facility is very clean and well staffed. The nurse staff is in constant contact with any issues or recommendations. Bathing and dressing care is ok and after recommendations from family members improvements are being made. Activities are scheduled and again after family suggestions more are planned on a daily basis. Food menus are available for resident selections and activity schedules are posted and available for residents and family members. Memory care is segregated from assisted living and has very tight security which is desired. Families can visit anytime and can take residents out of the facility after signing residents out and back in. Amenities available to assisted living residents are also available to Memory care residents as long as accompanied by a family member or friend. .

We are very pleased with our choice of Cypress Point. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The dining room is open so they can eat at whatever time the residents choose. This works well as you don't have a crowd or waiting to deal with. Thanks for helping us locate such a.nice facility.

Beautiful and warm feeling place. [name removed] was a very good listener during our first meeting, and she understood our mom’s needs. She spent a long time with us and offered her help in trying to meet my mom’s individual needs and expectations for her care. We believe that Cypress Point will be the perfect place for our mom.

A Place for Mom has scored Discovery Commons Cypress Point 7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
