Discovery Commons at Wildewood

I think it's a wonderful community. The people are friendly, very very clean and they seem to really care about the people they take care of. It's just fit our needs and they had an opening. It was like it was Gods for her to be there. It was clean and the people were warm and friendly. Also, it's very close to family. So far, we have been very pleased. Not to say that we haven't hit a few snags along the way, that's to be expected. Yes, we would definitely recommend this place to others. In fact, we already have.

This place has exceeded my expectations, which were high to begin with based on what other people had told me. I like just about everything about it. My loved one, who has Alzheimer's, gets more physical activity and social interaction than I was able to give her at home. The staff are terrific. They're compassionate and caring. It is pricey but worth every penny.

It's the best facility within a 100 miles. The staff is helpful and friendly. She enjoys the food somedays and others not so much. I think it will get better as they just changed the chef. This is a locked memory unit. They provide exercise, sing a long, puzzles and field trips for their activities. They have a facebook and text line to communicate with the family members of the residents.

They have done a great job in terms of personal care and we have been pleased. I did make a comment about the cleanliness of the residents bathrooms and it has improved since then so I am glad they listen to concerns. Sometimes the staff could be a little timelier with the communication on when my loved one is close to running out of things. I would definitely recommend Discovery Commons to others, I am glad that my dad is here.

The staff have been friendly and attentiveness to the residents. They treat you like family immediately. The staff is willing to help in anyway for the resident and family. Discovery Commons has lots of activities for the residents.

Our loved one did not get the care she needed, she would call for help and no one would come for hours. Our loved one said the food was terrible, and that it had poor quality. However, the rooms were very nice.

I am very pleased with the Discovery Commons at Wildewood facility that my mother, [name removed] has been in since [date removed]. She has settled in quite well and we are pleased with the level of care of the staff, the facility, the food and the activities.

If you love your family members don't place them in this facility ! It looks nice because it is only a little over 4 years old but the care is terrible. My mother was there 3 years and in that time had 2 femur fractures and multiple pneumonia's ? She never had the basics done from cleaning her dentures to checking her hourly as the contract stated ? The director lied about everything from the cameras not working to not telling the families that for over 1 1/2 years the facility primary care physician had not been there as required in all residents contracts ? Had the facility inspected by the state and they found several deficiencies that I am still awaiting the report before proceeding legally ! My mother's last fall was July 23rd and the cover-up began immediately and she has since passed as a direct result of their negligence !

My mom is doing very well and I am pleased with the level of care that is provided. The staff are very caring and very personal with individualize care and attention. I was impressed with the way they talk to them and seeing them hold their hands was comforting. She has good meals to eat and activities to do, I wish they would include art too. Her health and cogitative has improved. I notice that she is stronger and more expressive. The community is always so clean and light. For Valentine's Day they had a sweetheart dance. There was decoration that was really cool. They got some prom dresses for the ladies and others got dressed up. Family were invited, there was a DJ, and a mirror ball hanging from the ceiling. It was great dancing with the family. It was a lovely event, the activities director is great with her activities and events.

The community at Spring Village @ Wildewood has offered a wonderful experience so far. Our loved one seems to really like Spring Village. The staff have been very helpful with everything. They are accommodating and even assist with dialing a phone when needed.

My loved one has dementia and the care givers all keep her well entertained and distracted and they make sure that she is safe there at the Spring Village facility. The food they serve is really good too.

In regards to the location in California Maryland, it is new, it is nice. The turnover of staff is ridiculous crazy. My family member has been there for a year and a half and we do not have any staff members that have been there longer than she has. Staff members leave because they are overworked and underpaid. I believe they hire young and train on the job. Leaving these young girls not knowing what they are in for. Once they learn what they are involved in and how very difficult the care can be, they seek jobs elsewhere where they get paid fair for the work they do. Under staffed and under skilled. Licensed nurse staff is currently non existent. Praying it gets better before anything drastic happens.

The activities could use improvement. They did not my interest my mom when she was there.

The facility is absolutely gorgeous. It's a new building and I love the layout of the place and the privacy that my father has in his room. However, they have had a lot of turnover in the past 2 months. The people who work there are not happy because they are paid little and work a bunch of weird hours so they cannot get benefits. It has the potential to be a five, but if they can't get it together with their staffing.... honestly, I am trying to pull my father out because he isn't happy there.

This facility only opened just recently, and my loved one has only been here a short time, but so far I am very impressed by all they have to offer! The facility itself is very nice looking, and always well kept and clean. It has a very open, airy feel, and seems more like a resort than a care facility. The staff here are very friendly, and they're great at working with my loved one. She is quiet and shy, but they do a great job getting her out and about to meals and activities. Since they opened so recently they are still working out a few things, so the activities are care services are somewhat limited, but when they get everything up and running it will be hard to beat this place!
