Devon Gables Health Care Ctr

I'd like to start by saying that the aides have been very kind and helpful, and we really appreciated their hard work. The meals are unbelievably bad. The same food is on almost every meal. Pain Management - poor! At one time my family member had been in terrific pain and had been calling and calling for help. Nothing was done. While I was there I asked a nurse 4 different times to please provide a pain pill. We were put off again and again. How hard would it have been to administer the med and go back to your regular duties. Instead they chose to let this resident sit and suffer intense unnecessary pain! Needless to say I am angry that this happened, but don't dare say anything for fear of repercussions.

My mother-in-law has been a patient at Devon Gables Health Care Center and is now residing in their Independent Living section. Although the facility is older, it is very pleasant. She was first admitted for physical therapy. The staff was attentive, friendly and organized. When she eventually needed more help than she could receive at home, she moved to Devon Gables. All units are ground floor and each has it's own small patio area with larger grassy areas between buildings. Many residents have their own plants and birds are plentiful. Her rooms are large and easy to get around in using her rollator. Some housekeeping (bed making & cleaning floors) is provided. While the meals are not the most appealing, they do meet nutritional needs. Her last living situation kept her a little isolated. In this environment residents see one another often and are very friendly.
