My 97 year old mother spent the last year of her life at Darnestown Gardens Assisted Living. She suffered from late stage dementia and physical disabilities. The caregivers at Darnestown Gardens were loving, caring and so capable. They called my mother "Nana" because that's what her grandchildren and great-grandchildren called her. Late stage dementia is a difficult and heart wrenching condition to handle, but Darnestown Gardens caregivers managed her with love and understanding. Darnestown Gardens Assisted Living is a residential care home located in North Potomac, Maryland. At Darnestown Gardens, the staff creates individualized service plans that allow seniors and their families to control their level of care while upholding their independence, privacy, and dignity. This community also offers several services to assist seniors in a safe and secure environment. The services include medication management, meal service, daily activities, housekeeping services, and around-the-clock supervision.
The grounds of this community feature a beautiful garden which residents can tend to if they wish. The garden also has a bird bath and a beautiful koi pond with over 40 fish to help stimulate the resident's minds and spirits. My mom is not in any condition to participate in the activities they have but I have seen the other residents enjoy seated exercise and other things. The relief I personally feel having my mother at Darnestown Gardens has been a God Sent. I cant thank A Place For Mom enough for the recommendation and help

We chose Darnestown Gardens because of the convenient location to my home and also the care I could see that they were giving other residents when we took our tour. Everyone was extremely friendly. The owner herself was a nurse and had dealt with geriatric patients in other prior employment before she started this which was a big plus. I would definitely recommend to other families.
