Mom passed away on [date removed] last year. Creekside was an amazing place! I still go there once a week and volunteer. The staff from the administrator down to the maintenance person are all fully committed to the residence! Such a great place.

The management and staff at Creekside Place are very nice and helpful. Creekside is a smaller facility than where my mother lived previously, so it seems easier for all of the employees to know my mom and to keep an eye on her. There's more flexibility and a bit less feeling of rules and procedures for everything than there was at the larger facility. With a one-story building, my mom doesn't have to navigate elevators and she can't get lost. The building is one floor in a rectangular plan, so if she just keeps walking she will find her room soon. The housekeeping is fine, and all of the staff is friendly. My normally cheerful mom was confused, tired and cranky the day she moved in, but the staff was understanding, and my mom quickly got back to her usual self. The hardest part for my mom of being in a facility is dietary requirements, mostly being a vegetarian. At her previous facility, she got a menu at every meal with vegetarian options. At Creekside, you don't know what you're eating until it's placed in front of you. Creekside is willing to provide her with vegetarian options, but we provide the soy milk and some vegetarian alternatives, such as soy products. (One of the ritzier places in Vancouver said that their accommodation for vegetarians was to just not give them the entrée!) She hasn't been complaining about the food at Creekside, so I assume they're working it out. I bring her snacks, too. Unlike her previous facility, there's always plenty of parking right by the front door. I would recommend Creekside Place because the people are nice and the smaller facility has a homier feel. They have just as many activities that my mom can participate in and she seems happy there.

I toured this facility and it was ok. Friendly staff and clean environment.
Creekside Place might not be the fanciest community on the block but it is very clean, well kept, well managed and homey. The staff members are so warm, friendly and professional - they are this communities best asset. We really like them and our loved one really likes them and they are so patient with all the residents there. Our loved one is generally happy with the meals and we do see a few snack carts around the community throughout the day. It is set up almost like a donut - so the residents can walk around and not get lost or hit a dead end. They garden at the community which is great and based on our entire experience so far we would recommend this community to other families

This community was more expensive in rent than we wanted to spend.
The staff is very friendly and they have activities for the residence to participate in. I feel that they are understaffed and the food used to be better when we first moved our loved one in. I would say this community is adequate.

My Mom was living here. The old management was pretty good. But then they brought in a new one who does not know how to treat people. They had good staff. But they either left or were driven out. They can't keep a cook. If they do have one, they don't know how. Either not enough food, or flavor. A few times when my mom was eating in her room, they forgot to feed her. When covet hit. She was in her room, not allowed out. She felt like a prisoner. She was so angry. Well she had a stroke. her speech was impaired. The manager would not allow her to come back without a 24 hour nurse in her room, Even though the rehab center said as long as there was a nurse checking on her 24 hours. Didn't need to be in her room. Maybe they can't keep a nurse? She had a studio apt. there wasn't room for a nurse. The manager said "That is your problem" . So Mom could not go back there. We also were told they wanted more money. Over 1000.00 more for just basic service. We won't pay for substandard care. We are moving her to a more caring place.

i would suggest keeping a close eye on follow up when you need to communicate. The staff are shorthanded. The caregivers seem pretty friendly but they don't have time to do little extra things for the residents, especially during the COVID lock down time. The food is pretty good and they offer variety but they serve small portions. They offer a few activities, like shopping trips and bingo.

My mom was only there for a few days prior to hospitalization and then her passing. However, for the short time that she was there she was treated like family and we were impressed with the love and care that we saw. The staff was amazing not only to her mom but to us and we would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a home for mom or dad. I can’t thank them enough for all they did and for their genuine love for people

Do NOT send your loved ones here. My mom was here and the staff is continually changing. Management, nurse, cook, and Care Staff. Communication is poor between staff. I'm sorry I didn't move her sooner. Food is awful. She had to be fed in her room, after everyone else. Cook forgot to fox meal and left. I am angry even writing this. She was charged a very high rate and the services did NOT match the care. All I heard was, "You know her health plan will change. " Not, how are you doing, just $$$. As her rate went up, the care went down. No compassion and no one took responsibility for anything.

I had to put my husband in this community in a very short time and everything is working out. The caregivers are very, very good. It is a nice, clean community. He will go to the exercise classes sometimes. And he will go to the dining room for lunch and breakfast. He will be able to get fruit for a snack if he needs it. I would recommend this place to my friends.

My mom is very pleased with her move to Creekside Place. Since I am in a different state my sister and my mom give me regular reports on how things are going. My mom is so please with how clean everything is and how well they take care of her room. Housekeeping is just great. The food is great in fact the night before last mom was really excited to see that the selection on the menu, for the next night was going to be enchiladas. Mom tells me that she always gets great service and the food is perfect. The director at Creekside was very helpful and worked with me over the phone on my mom's paperwork since I am in a different state, and her assistant is very sweet, accommodating and always follows through. Big Thumbs UP! My sister who lives in WA. is happy with the staff as well. The entire staff is very nice. With the activities, we had to encourage my mom to participate in the beginning, but now she likes going to bingo, and she is starting to meet new friends and is so much happier here at Creekside Place. My advisor with A Place for Mom was great to work with and she desires an "Atta Girl" for helping me find Creekside Place. I would have no trouble recommending Creekside to my friends and family.

Response from Creekside Place
October 11, 2016Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our Regional Director of Operations will be in touch shortly to discuss your concerns further.
My mother isn't totally satisfied with the fact she is now living in a retirement community, but with some time I'am hoping she becomes more adjusted to it. This is an older facility, but for the most part they do a good job with keeping everything nice and clean. The staff is nice and friendly. They are treating her very well. The food has been a little disappointing. Overall they are caring for her well, so I would recommend it.

She likes it at Colonial House. Some of the nurses are a little cranky. Overall she is very happy. The staff try to be pretty supportive. They help with anything she needs. She loves sea hawk day. They get to dress in sea hawk shirts and have them food. They have messed up on medications some and getting things confused. So there are things like that that need improving. But overall it's been good.

A Place for Mom has scored Creekside Place 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
