My wife is a resident at Creamery Brook Village. She has two major health issues with her eyes and bones and has had no supplements for these conditions for about two months- they just do not care for her health! I know of no activities at this facility. I'm moving my wife out of this facility soon.

My loved one is currently a resident at the Creamery Brook Village. The staff at this facility are polite, friendly and very helpful. The meals are very good. I would recommend Creamery Brook Village if you are looking for an Assisted Living facility in the Northeast Connecticut area.

The staff and residents are very friendly. There are outings, puzzles, coffee area, entertainment and more as some of the activities offered to the residents to participate in. There is a monthly activities calendar in the elevator for the residents to see what they want to participate in and the resident will receive this in their mail as well. There is transportation for the residents to use if the resident doesn't want to drive. I feel that my loved one is receiving a good value for their money they are paying. There is a full kitchen in the apartment. There are communal laundry areas on the floor for the residents to use. There is a recycling, and trash shut for the residents to use as well in the laundry area. There are different meal plans for the residents to choose from. My loved one enjoys the food, and if the resident doesn't finish their meal, they can take the leftovers back to their apartment.

Dad's been very happy at Creamery Brook for 8+ years, starting out in a lovely cottage then moving to a very nice apartment and then needing assistance. He enjoys the activities and opportunities to be social. The whole facility has recently been updated, redecorated, and is beautiful. The meals have always been good and the chef checks in with every table at dinner to chat and ask for feedback. Because its a fairly small place dad knows all the staff-and they know him. He gets compassionate and attentive care from the Assisted Living program, and all the staff look out for all the residents all the time. I live on the west coast and can only visit occasionally; I get regular updates on how dad's doing and when I'm here I can see first hand how well he's cared for. I'm grateful every day knowing he's in good, safe hands.

My Dad just loves living at Creamery Brook Village!! Everyone is so nice and helpful. There are so many activities to keep him busy if he wants to participate. He loves the food, the Chefs and staff go out of their way to make sure he is happy and satisfied. His apartment is perfect for him and set up just right for his needs. It is great that they let me bring the dogs to visit. That always puts a smile on his face. I would recommend Creamery Brook to anyone looking for the perfect assisted living facility.

The facility is dated and has many structural and utility problems. Undulating and creaky floors. Water system is always going down. No backup electrical source in case of electrical blackout. The food is horrible. Heated from a can or frozen meals. No fresh foods or locally sourced foods/vegetables. Portions are small and vary in quantity and quality from meal to meal. Kitchen is unresponsive to the special dietary needs of the residents. Foods are overcooked, greasy and salty. Many of the residents -women, are snobbish and do not wish to associate with the "commoners." The apartments are infested with insects, mice, cockroaches, etc. Routine use of insecticides by the staff is common, but, unhealthy for the residents and does not solve the problem. Go elsewhere for senior care; I am moving out at first opportunity!!!

My dad loves the staff at this community. The food is great and they keep the community clean. The community is pleasant with the way it is decorated and the layout. It is in a rural setting. They offer a small cafe, a small general store they also have a game room, puzzle room and a small bank. I have already recommended this community and it is a great value as it is not as expensive as others he has lived in.

Creamery Brook Retirement Community is absolutely the best place for my 89 year old mother to reside. The most important factor is the people around her----a congregate evening meal and daily activities---to provide the socialization she needed with peers. The services provide for her every need and I have peace of mind knowing she is safe with 24/7 staff available if needed. My mother resides in the independent living area but can age in place and receive assisted living services as needed. It is the perfect environment for her.

We chose this location for our loved one because it met her geographical criteria; she wanted to be fairly close to her friends and her community. We actually lucked out because it met her criteria and it was half the price of the other places we looked at. The other communities were further away and cost twice as much. It is in a beautiful country setting which a quiet surround, especially at night. We are very please with our choice and would recommend it to anyone.

A Place for Mom has scored Creamery Brook Village 7.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
