Countryside Retirement Residence PERM CLOSED

The girls that work there are very good with patients there. They look after my friend well, she has been very impressed with them. It seems the location makes it difficult for volunteers to come and visit, or have many activities. That's the one thing I would like to see more opportunities for activities. She tells me she likes the food, so they have some good cooks there.

Countryside provides a warm home-like environment for its' residents. All the staff that I met and spoke with were friendly and really seemed to care. It can be difficult finding respite care that you can reserve well in advance, but Countryside is always accommodating.

Countryside is the best thing going for retirement living. The value for the price is bar none the best in the region (including Guelph!) The food is fabulous home cooking, geared towards each residents needs and desires. The staff are kind, empathetic, warm and professional! This is NOT an institution, it is a true "home". The staff and owners treat our Mom like family. They contact us regularly and we work together to assist Mom to have the best retirement living experience possible. Mom is healthier than she has been in years. And to be clear, she was at one of those larger "retirement homes" previously. Since being at Countryside she has not had 1 trip to the hospital (she is almost one year at this Home) She is brighter, cognitively doing better, and she is enjoying her life again! We had a great family bbq there last summer and plan another one on the gorgeous deck this summer. I cannot express in writing how fabulous this inviting seniors home is. Mom would like some more friends out there like her, so please, if you or your family member is looking for a well priced, family centered seniors home, visit Countryside, you will NOT find a better deal or a nicer home with fabulous staff!

Peter took the time to show me the place and to answer all my questions. It s a nice place however I m still interested in looking for other possibilities to fulfill my dream of living in the country. Thank you Peter and Marija. There really wasn't anything for her to do there. There weren't a lot of residents to socialize and converse with. They were very very good and attentive, when she needed more care. She was not happy with the food, I would give it a 3, I think she would have liked more on her plate, rather than going back for seconds.There wasn't much variety, and was a little disappointed with some of the meals. The lack of socialization and the food is what brought down the score. They were less expensive than another option we were considering.

This was a lovely property. The current residents are over 80 and some in their 90's Since Bubbi is only 72 I'm not sure it would be a fit at this time
