Coolidge Palms Assisted Living Resort

The first day I went to Coolidge Palms I was there to meet my mother who was checking in for the first time. I had an opportunity to see the operation first hand. By 5 o'clock the staff gets reduced to a minimum and the place looks deserted. While waiting in the lobby I noticed that one of the residents had fallen down from his wheelchair and other residents who could barely help themselves were trying to assist him. No staff in sight for several minutes. The lobby is well appointed and the staff is friendly however; as you head towards the rooms or the cafeteria the place reeks like urine. Don't bother trying to reason with the director she couldn't care less, she only seems to be interested in maximizing the facility's bottom line.

This facility has been taken over recently by Majestic Care USA. They are a national chain of Assisted Living resorts with many locations in South Florida. Their attention to detail as well as their professional team has been a huge boost to Coolidge Palms. We have a great improvement in the overall look and feel of the facility. The food is great the facility is always clean and staff is always smiling. I urge everyone that is looking for a great facility to check this one out you wont be disappointed. By the way Majestic Care USA trade mark is to be able to accommodate all budget levels.

The staff is really friendly and very nice. It’s worth the money, but it’s still very expensive. My loved one doesn’t use a lot of the care services at this time, but the care services are being a good support for her.

Coolidge Palms used to be all it shows on this page and more. However, on 5/1/14 it was taken over by a new owner corp. All has been changed over night. All of the caring staff were let go and replaced by very few staff, some of which can't speak English which is the what most of the residents speak. It is actually dangerous how few staff to resident ratio they are trying to get by with. In addition, there is no longer an enrichment program run by a recreation person offering games, outings, a weekly Sat. BBQ for residents and their guests. That is all gone now since they fired the rec person and the residents are lost with nothing but TV to entertain. The food was the worst change. Previously, the food was excellent, fresh and healthy. Now, it is often hardly edible with no fresh produce; only the same, tired canned peas and carrots and 1/2 a pear. They have cut the amt. of food to very little, insisting that it meets the requirement of 1,800 calories. Run, don't walk, away from this nightmare facility whose new owners decided to down grade all of the beautiful amenities it once had but not the price tag! Greed rules here now, not good care.

The staff are very helpful and I enjoy the fact that I can come in and out as I please at any time. My dad enjoys the food. It’s conveniently located and there is decent parking. My dad can go outside if he likes.

Right next to RR tracks. Very urban and depressed area. No greenery, looks like they might have an interior patio but not very appealing from outside. Not right for folks.
